can someone fix this sentence please? im trying to make some parallelism here, but cant find the correct antonym for luxury.

"However, I firmly believe that if I have the luxury of leaving the water running, people in developing nations should have the essentiality of running water."

im not even sure if essentially is used correctly there.

just changed it to:
Nevertheless, I firmly believe that if I can leave the water running, people in developing nations should have running water.

too choppy?

I believe that it is a travesty that the large majority of Americans leave their water running without a care in the world while hundreds of millions of people in developing nations suffer without the basic human necessity of fresh water.

Or something like that. I don't really like the way you were putting it...
