cant find a newspaper link at the moment, its all over the news stations. sorry for writing he was drunk in my post, upon double checking that is just a rumor thus far, but this was posted last night:

google news search the last name and it should come up

sorry to hear about your loss

and whether he was drunk or not, going 90 in a 55 is prob enough to get some sort of manslaughter. depends though i dunno im no crim law expert.
05-24-2010 , 07:05 PM
certainly would be if he wasnt a cop. ky is fked up, they straight up rodney kinged a guy a few years back and only got slaps on the wrist. sucks. we werent that close but she was bff with one of the girls i used to drug it up with so it sucks. wouldnt be shocked if someone ODs tonight, unfortunately enough.

assuming nobody saved it, CL link was basically:

woman and her husband see some guy doing 90

5 minutes later they see girls car in the median, totally crashed

apparently it was hit by the guy who was doing 90, and all he is doing is complaining about the damage to his car

woman stays with girl until the EMT gets there and takes her to the hospital, rest of post is basically asking for info on girl so that the woman can check to make sure she is all right

ends up finding out that the dude that hit her was a cop, and girl passed away after a couple hours in ICU

trying to see if anyone on fb right now saved it. pretty fked up either way.

makes me feel bad for the sense of humor at brown to be honest, this is brilliant, and I hate Harry Potter.

rofl back in high school there was like a 2 week period where the only thing i did when i got drunk was talk like the sorting hat and award everyone points.

**** MY LFIE

im supposed to drive back home today at like 6-7 PM. Stayed up until 8 AM playing poker (woops). About to crash for 6 hours then get up and pack and leave... then decide to e-mail the landlord the model # on our dryer as it needs to get fixed. Get a call like 3 mins after I email him asking me if I'll be around at 10 AM for the repairmen.

************************

then he told me the repair guys need to be paid in cash at time of service 200+ dollars. I was like lolno I can't float that on a check or anything. I'm just not willing to do that. That's not unreasonable, is it? I told him I cannot do it (and tbh I really can't... I need to send checks for utilities and I paid one of our roommates a lump sum of my rent so he can pay it while I am out of town... plus I'm about to make a huge cash withdrawal for an AC trip thsi week), and he was fine with it and said he'd figure somethign out.

So now I'm sitting ehre waiting for him to call back tired as **** and I just want to sleep. But if I fall asleep there is 0 chance I am awake at 10 when the guys come.

Odds they show up 2 hours late to a very ****ing irate Karak sitting in his living room on no sleep?

adsfjadsfhasdhfashdf **** THIS RIGHT NOW NONE OF MY OTHER ROOMMATES ARE AROUNDDDDD I WONT EVEN BE HERE

i shoulda told him i wouldnt be here at 10, but if he sent someone over and I was here, then I'd look ******ed

not unreasonable: the repairman needs a check when he comes and fixes it
unreasonable: the repairman needs to be paid 200 cash when he comes and fixes it

update!?
05-25-2010 , 01:22 PM
guy just left **** my life

landlord magically arranged to pay the repairman through the mail (shocking development) when i told him i wasnt able to float 200 cash right now (not entirely a lie really... im not in a position to do that with a planned AC trip and shots at 2/5 or 5/10 NLHE on my mind :-P)

tbh i think the landlord is terrified of us sometimes (and honestly probably rightfully so) because we are are law students and know our landlord-tenant **** better than most attorneys do at this point in their careers haha. it's amazing what landlords HAVE to do. if i knew a couple years ago what i knew now i could have pressed landlords a lot harder to fix some **** that was wrong with my house that they had a DUTY to fix, but we just had no idea.

i know many landlords refuse to rent to law students or lawyers. some lawyers try to avoid disclosing they are attorneys, especially in cities like NY. The ABA had to send out a memo to all its (I think this was in NY... i read about it on above the law) members in a city to ask them to please stop suing their landlords over every little thing or threatening to sue them over every little thing. it's borderline unethical first of all, and it was making LLs completely avoid leasing to attorneys at all.

my sleep schedule is royal ****ed. yesterday i wokeup at 1pm and watched the season finale of lost. i have not seen one single episode of that show so i ended up falling asleep during it and slept until around 6pm. i've now stayed up since then until now, 10:30 am the next day because of a good blog thread in vegas lifestyle, shows on hulu, and a documentary suggested by gman. i've been really tired since like 4am but i have a weird thing where i can't fall asleep unless i accomplish something during the day. i made like 7 buyins in poker but my mind doesn't count that

last night i had a session where i was down 3.5 buy-ins in showdown pots

DOWN 3.5 buy-ins in showdown pots

i was up a buy-in, even with that. looool <3 my ability to keep a very positive non-showdown winning at HU. im such an aggro monkey. this also leads to big negatives in showdown pots when i go crazy and decide to barrel down shoving on a scare card on the last street and get looked up by 4th pair ten kicker

****ing law school grades. **** **** ****. Two A's as the first two grades I get in law school, and a whole pool of **** since then. Never mind that almost none of the exams felt different from each other in quality as I was taking them. One more 1L grade to come and I'll be lucky to come out of this even above the median at all. I think my GPA right now might be slightly below it.

I'd better be, as Samuel L. Jackson puts it in Pulp Fiction, "one charming mother****ing pig" when I'm out there networking.

On a more positive (though unfortunately far more trivial) note, two things that I always forget how much I appreciate: new towels and new socks.

Drying off after my shower just now with a first-time towel made me feel like I've been drying off with sandpaper for six months.

And new socks always leave you that feeling of "Ahh, these look great...they'll never be close to this white again."

These items are inexpensive and I should buy them more often.

shaving with a new blade cartridge is the nuts also. that + new towel = orgasmic.
