we should have a competition where schools can enter(as people) and two people from each school are entered and play in a series of sngs to see the best school ldo

You can set up private SNGs through pokerstars.

I used to play a lot of SNGs, haven't played forever, but would be interested.

I'm the only person I know at my university who plays poker. No-one in my circle of friends here could beat 0.01/0.02 probably.

I think we should just do that with MTTs, I can say right now I probably wouldn't be part of the team unless it was >15 people.

Karak, any way you can work on setting up a SL sng at some point? I know a lot of us have finals coming up, so weekend evenings are probably better.

Ya know, just an hour or so to cut loose from cramming for exams.

An all nighter in progress at the moment. Stupid lab report taking much longer than I anticipated. 11 hours remaining though until I have to hand it in and just started page 10. Shouldn't take more than a few more hours, then I can go play some Altitude If I try any poker in my current state I'll most likely fail.

Running good is always nice
I don't think I'm that bad though, I beat 1/2 on full tilt last year over a small sample size. I'll admit I'm waaaay out of practice though, the only thing I've been playing the last few months is the softest tournament ever on a euro site with over 350% ROI over 20 odd games I've been able to fit into my schedule []sample size.

So I am in my third of four years at uni and live with two close guy mates. We all get on well and live in a small house and things are cool. But we all do the same course and my social life has definately died down because I see less people now. But I still enjoy what we have as a house, though maybe feel a bit empty at times.

Anyway, two pretty hot girls do medicine and their mates all leave uni this year and they have asked us to live with them next year. They know one of my mates fairly well and me and the other lad hardly know them but know they are sensible and fun. But we have NO relationship with them at all, there is no friendship or anything there because we have spent so little time with them.

Anyway I got to make a decision whether to live with them. I watched 'Yes Man' about 2 hours before I found out they wanted to live with us and it made me just think '**** it, yeh just live with them'. But it could damage our house friendship, and we may not end up getting on well with them at all...

Its a risk that could pay off if we live with them (meet new people, meet hot girls, new friends), but it could turn out pretty badly. Or I could play it safe and live in this comfortable house and at times feel pretty bored.

Help!

Ask for all of you to go on a night out /go to a bar with both of them to see how well you all get along with each other?

This is actually a pretty tough decision. You will meet many more girls if you live with them. And they're hot, which means they will have mostly hot, or at least decently attractive, friends. However, you will have a lot of fun and zero drama if you live with your mates. I'd say to hang out with the girls first. You don't want to live with girls that are complete *****, no matter how hot they, or their friends, are.

Aside for Mods: are we allowed to say bit***s?

Haha you guys go ahead and set it up. I've got my plate full with exams for the next 2 weeks. Go ahead and make a thread for it if you want.

I had my end of year exams this week. Four exams in 5 days and I was completely unprepared so lots of cramming with only 4 hours sleep each night and one all nighter :/ . Next year I'll put more effort in during the semester because cramming sucks.

I'm completely shattered right now but it feels great to have the first year of uni over.

Looking forward to relaxing and partying all summer now.

Just finished my Lab Report. Its 8:30am and I still haven't slept. Time for a 9:15 lecture, then home for a nap

The decision is as easy or as difficult as you make it, depending on how much thought you give it. If you are one of these people that over-thinks a lot or likes to plan ahead and have security etc then the decision ultimately becomes harder than it perhaps should be.

You are at university for a reason but you are also there for enjoyment - finding a balance between the two is the right answer. At the moment you probably have a pretty sweet time but the grass is always greener... you find little things that you may not be happy with and assume the answer is radical change, as opposed to sorting the current situation out. The adjustment that is required from going from one extreme to the other shouldn't be underestimated..

The fact that in your 3rd year now you will have a lot of work and have LESS time for going out when comparing with the last two years should be considered alongside the fact that you will have less time again next year..

If you want to play poker after a day at uni and grind for the night..will that be entirely plausible without being anti-social? Will you have to alter your behaviour because you live with two girls? Will you have the same freedom that you probably enjoy now?

Definitely go out with them a couple of times before making a decision.. go out to neutral surroundings first, like a bar, where people will feel more comfortable and then on a separate night invite them round to yours and cool. They get the chance to see how you live and a decision can be reached afterwards.. GL

I understand you are worried about losing the atmosphere you have in your current house, but I think you stand to gain a lot more. They will have friends over, will help broaden your social circle and bring a new perspective to decisions than you get with just guys.

If worst comes to worst and you find you don't get along it will be really easy to not be forced to spend too much time with that particular person. IMO as long as you can get along ok and have fun thats enough to live with somebody, in some ways being close friends puts more strain and potential pressure on the situation.

this is like a really random and fishy question: but what is the cycle on things that we should eat? like everyone says 5 fruit/vegetables a day, x alcohol units per week, but is there a set limit?

Like atm i will eat the same food for a week eg. spaghetti and meat ragu, or chicken and rice. Is me eating all the same foods for a week, then switching, bad for long run health?

pretty sure this question sucks but thanks anyway

my diet consists of fish (salmon, cod, tilapia, tuna), chicken, eggs, steak, green beans (canned), apples, and alcohol

This question is probably answered in the H&F FAQ and if not, I'd suggest posting it in their beginner's thread. You'll get informed and educated opinions (on diet) there. You will not here.

I'm no expert but in general just make sure you have at least three meals a day and don't skip breakfast. As for your main meals I don't think eating the same foods often would have too much of an affect but like Karak said you are probably better off looking in H&F for advice.

When pulling an all nighter or studying late I find apples and bananas work 10x better than crappy energy drinks.
