Ask OsTornado, I'm out of shape as ****. I used to play soccer in HS, but that never really translated to upper body strength.

Question for you guys on roommates

are your roommates the same age as you or does it really matter what age or year of school everyone is in? Reason me and my friend who are freshman right now are looking for two other roommates and have a chance to get a place with two other guys who are a one and two years older than us. Im probably over thinking this but am just curious what other peoples roommate situations are

Should not be an issue. I'm 23, my roommate is 20, but we have similar interests, so it works out.

I only have 4 weeks left as a student! I'm tempted to fail just so I can have another year... only joking! I still have 16,000 words to do though

gl w/ the dissertation (i'm assuming?) -- what field?

If you ever need a laugh/study break while writing, I recommend this.

i'm 22, live with a guy whos the same age, a girl who's the same age, 4 girls 2 years younger and a 19yo girl. the only problem is when one of the girls goes on a cooking rampage and doesn't wash her dishes for 4 days, and then goes off crying when someone calls her out on it.

Does she cook for everybody? If so, you guys should do the dishes imo.

If not, then justified.

Its crazy in my house at the mo, two people who live together in the house who have been dating since freshers week have split up. Lots of nasty facebook wall messages for everyone to see. Good job its easter so everyone is apart for a bit.

Next year I'm living with the girl who asked me to live with her next year a while back and 6 random people who I don't really know next year, met them once. I don't think you can find a more varied group of people all living in one house. Should be an interesting dynamic;

1 quiet maths geek guy, 1 fat computer game playing guy, 1 foreign confused girl, 1 really good athlete, 1 super organised 'nice guy', 1 typical large haired blonde girl who turns up an hour late to everything, 1 quiet 'innocent type' girl and me.

Yeah 10,000 word dissertation and two 3,000 word assignments I'm studying Business Studies in my 4th years after completing an internship during my 3rd year. I also, 2 exams during the hand in period for this 16,000 words Trying to do an all nighter now to get a few thousand words out the way. I just sit here eating rubbish whilst staring into space!

What's your stereotype in that mix?

Also, I live with someone two years older than me and someone the same age and there is no difference. Just make sure you can bare the people you live with. Me and one of my flat mates who I've lived with throughout uni are completely different course wise and hobbies wise but we get on really well. We like to chat ****, drink lots of tea and annoy each other. The biggest mistake some people can make is to live with people who are in a relationship as you end up being in the middle of the arguements and have to calm them down. Some people like to be really clean and some don't, make sure you can deal with the people you choose to live with. People you go out drinking with won't always make good housemates. Choose who you live with wisely!

latter ldo. she cooks for her and her bf every night, they'll put dishes in the dishwasher and just leave them there most of the time, start the dishwasher like 1/5 times. the rest of the time they'll leave them to gather for a few days (stacked yesterdays on top of the day before's and so on) until we get mad at her and she cries and complains that nobody else ever starts/loads up the dishwasher. then we have to explain to her bf (since she's gone crying) that since we all ate subway every day this week, we didn't use any dishes this week and thus won't wash your dirty dishes. he goes and explains why she's wrong and she stays mad for the rest of the night and then it's fine for a week until she stops cleaning after herself again.

Most of you guys know that I'm a music student, so lemme bounce an idea.

Got to begin preparing a recital for next semester.

I have to play SOME standard stuff, but I really want to include some stuff thats not entirely standard repertoire (see - boring to other music majors). Maybe some stuff that some people have never been exposed to in the past.

Also, I wanted something that non-musicians would enjoy hearing. I'm a percussionist, so I have a LOT of options in this realm.

I think I'm going with hang drum solos. There are a few that look interesting. Right now, the front runner is a combination of the following 2 pieces. I'll take the music and arrange them with some filler between to create a piece that's ~7min long.

Thoughts/opinions on the following videos would be appreciated!

Both videos sounded very good, I enjoyed the first one a little more. Had a very good rhythm

Actually, the new plan is the following.

3 movement piece.

Mvt 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rXcdcDB2S8
Mvt 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQXn5ba0aT8
Mvt 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNJswfXKJ3s

edit, it's spelled "hang drum" but pronounced "hOng drum," so it's funny to me that one movement is titled "well hang"

Last edited by Vintage00; 03-29-2010 at 07:01 PM. Reason: hope ya enjoy. Thoughts?

FFFFUUUUU Karak

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtqGQCY8R3U

I actually played this piece on Saturday @ a gig in Atlanta. I woulda been the dude 2nd from left in this vid (we didn't do most of the cheesy introduction **** in the middle)

Yes, parts of it are cheesy, but the crowd ate it up. Doesn't hurt that it was at a wine auction and most everybody was hammered wasted.

Also, for Karak, this gem for you. Dude plays marching tenors w/ whiffleball bats, and is a bad mother****er.

I honestly don't know what my stereotype is. Probably the lazy kid that does no work - typical poker player. I think I'm best described as a floater, an average dude who can hang with any group at all pretty easily, have done all my life. Apart from those damn cheerleaders, they are so bitchy/self-important that they annoy me them in large groups.
