91 today. I'm usually around an 18 hdcp, but I don't play a whole lot. I jacked up my ankle pretty bad about a year ago, only played about 3x since then.

lol, coworker just told me a story that will amuse any comp sci students - in 2002 he was studying Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm w/ a lab partner, and they ran into trouble or something so his partner was like "hey, let's e-mail Dijkstra and ask for help!" So they look up his e-mail (and he has a publicly listed university e-mail address or something) and get this response:

Quote:
Dear Mr. ______,

In reply to your question I would like to draw your attention
to the fact that I designed the algorithm for the shortest path in
1956.

Yours,
Edsger W.Dijkstra
What a boss.

posting live from the borgata where im crushing LHE

EZ mode imo. +1k since 4:30? ty

i just jinxed the **** out of myself with this post and the one in the yankee thread. proceeding back to get the cold deck of doom and go busto.
03-11-2010 , 11:25 PM
sheesh +1k? u playin 20/40?
03-12-2010 , 04:44 AM
i shoulda played 20/40 but im a NLHE player usually, so i don't feel comfortable playing above 10/20 LHE. I honestly know nothing about LHE and have never studied the game at all or played outside of live casinos. however the players at 10/20 are so awful it really doesn't take much skill to destroy them as i have been every time i've played live for the last 2 years or so.

i ran up +1200 on the day at LHE. the game got kinda tight/nitty so i quit and started drinking beer. then i drank more beer. then i drank even more beer. then all of a sudden craps seemed like a good idea.

TR: craps is not a good idea, however i somehow limited my losses to $104.

Craps is a fantastic idea. You just didn't have the hot hand.

Just wanted to post something, hopefully I can get some advice on college, and what to expect.

So I have 2 days of school left and basically I think high school is just pointless in a lot of ways. The bf/gf situations are a joke, and very few go far. The girls just hook up with anyone and are all bitches if they are not drunk. All the guys who are in a relationship are pussy whipped and most of the girls treat there bf like ****. I always got the question from people, how come you don't have a girlfriend? I don't think there really was a good time for me to have one, and I don't want one. I always ask them is it really cool to have a girlfriend when you are 16 or so, and have your parents drive you around or pay for everything. Should I waste all my time on 1 girl so then 3 months later we break up because one of our friends said something bad about the other. I saw it as pointless and want to wait till I'm in college, more free to go about and explore.

And not just girls, guys here are so douchy, and are so ignorant about things it's unreal. For the past 3 years I have been a pretty quiet guy, especially this past year I focused a lot on poker. I was easy to get along with and didn't think I had any problems. The past year from random people I got weird remarks I didn't know how to take. Like yesterday some kid said something to me about giving a girl a piece of gum, and how it's the first time I touched a girls hand. I never once spoke to the kid before so I couldn't tell if he purposefully was trying to be a dick, but I should of beat his ass.

On a side note..I never really thought of this until a friend brought it up who was sitting by me when the kid said that.He is like yeah you know people are just jealous..I'm like about what? They say stuff about you and your cars all the time. 1 thing is, I never really brought up poker or anything about $ for that matter, just my close friends new what I did and word slowly spread. I bought a brand new Mercedes and BMW this past year, and I wonder if people really did get jealous about it??

Sooo next month I am moving out of here, hopefully start a new part of my life, make new friends and enjoy it. My high school experience was definitely not a good and memorable one although I had some great times.

What has your college life been like so far? Much different then hs?

I play HU used to play anything up to 25/50 really now playing like 1/2 (when I play) since I put $ away for school/housing and bought the cars. After playing for a year non stop it's not something I want to continue with for a sole source of income in the future.

By the way..From my experiences with poker and from people that i've talked to, it definitely isn't the way for me. When playing I would basically just use all my $ towards my bankroll, b/c I had no bills nothing to pay for, I never bought anything. So people told me take it as a gift, have fun with it, you are sooo young.

I only live once, I don't really like poker anymore, so I figured i'll have fun with some of it.

Well congrats with you poker success first of all, I one day can hope to play 25/50

College for me has been so much for laid back. For the most part everyone is a lot nicer and they don't get caught up in a bunch of drama. So do but not like HS. At my school their would be girls who would be like OMG OMG this one girl gave my BF a hug and they would like freak out about it lol. Also in college everyone doesn't take stuff as seriously, like partying and what not. Like in HS it was considered "Cool" if you smoked or partied every weekend. In college most do that anyway so its no big deal. Basically College is just so much more laid back and everyone is there for themselves. Sounds like you'll enjoy it. Plus you'll be driving around in a couple of sick cars to lol
03-13-2010 , 01:54 AM
Yeah, TML, it's more laid back.

Also, your long post made me lol a lot. Not laughing at you, but I just got done watching Juno. Irony was rife.

what is everyone's consensus on "Weeds"? I had heard good things, and was ready to watch the first season but couldn't make it through the first episode.

I literally just quoted season 1 30 seconds ago on facebook. Love it.

What do you dislike?

edit: I much prefer seasons 1-3.
03-13-2010 , 02:21 AM
i dont know what it was... i didnt find it funny, exciting or interesting for some reason
03-13-2010 , 02:27 AM
It takes a little bit of time to develop on occasion, but it's worth it just for the amount that you can quote it and laugh around your friends.

Doug (the councilman that was smoking out in his car in ep.1) gets to be HILARIOUS. Everybody ****s everybody, so there's drama there and some pretty constant awkwardness, which I think adds to the humor.
03-13-2010 , 04:02 AM
ended +1385 after 12 hours of 10/20 LHE. ez game.
03-13-2010 , 04:20 AM
First 3 seasons are good, maybe only 2 but the show gets to be stretched out for material or whatever.

lol at 10-20 lhe karak nice work though!

Obv...

So, it's raining at this beach house on Spring Break, so we watched movies all evening.

- The Haunting in Connecticut is legit. If you're not into "weird" movies, you might not like it, but hang in there. I usually don't like super weird movies, and I really enjoyed this.

- Lucky Number Slevin: GREAT flick. Lots of funny lines. Kansas City Shuffle FTW. Some of the cinematography was really effective, too.

- Knocked Up: We played a drinking game to this movie. Every time someone in the room mentions "Freaks & Geeks" or "How I Met Your Mother," it's a social. Also drink whenever Katherine Heigl's boobs look good. We got ****ed up.

- Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels: Intense. That's all there is to say.

- Juno: One of the most edgy scripts I've read in a while. Saw it for the first time today, really enjoyed it.

However, after ALL OF THAT, I can't get various quotes from either of these 2 things out of my head:
1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY8jaGs7xJ0
2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sf_Dd0Eke0

TRs are always good

I've hardly gone out this semester, makes me sad. All we seem to do is stay in and play the wii. A girl cooked me dinner round her house yesterday which was nice.

It differs place to place, but I think standard is that they won't check it if you go there for 3-4 semesters.

Don't 100% quote me on that, though.

So I am looking to move next month and don't want to live by myself. Anyone have any expierences with like finding a house share on craigslist? I seem to find a lot of nice houses or apartments where people are looking for roommates.

I am going to newport beach and a apartment is outrages compared to what I get for a house share. Any reccommendations?

I seem to be one of a few people who liked the third movie just as much as the first.
The first was on UK TV a couple of days ago and realised I hadn't seen it in years, watched it, and was almost as blown away as I was the first time. Then Reloaded was on; it wasn't as awful as I remember, and the freeway scene is still tremendous, but it lacks so much of the impact the first had. Would it have been physically possible for Reloaded to have been as good since a huge amount of what made the first so good the newness of the vision? Or is Reloaded just badly written?

Hmm.

But Revolutions is just awful. Urgh. Though the Zion battle is half-passable, I guess.

And I was amused upon realising that when I first saw the trilogy I must have been too young to appreciate the hotness of Carrie-Anne Moss.
