no. i started playing around sophomore year and gave money away like it was my job. i had no idea how to play/what i was doing/anything.
i was a terrible player for about a year and a half. i finally started making money from it this past summer, i worked as a waiter and put a lot of that money into pokerstars and began taking it really seriously and i started making money, but it took me a while to get back to even from losing a good amount when i started out.
this year i was making just enough (not a lot at all) to allow me to afford beer and not have to work as a waiter on weekends during the school year (i worked on weekends junior year because i was a losing poker player).
in the last 2 weeks i won a tourney for 4700 and went deep in the sunday million for 3200. couldnt have happened at a better time. its hard to walk away, especially when im playing my best poker ive ever played, but i feel its the right thing to do right now.
