Meh, idk really, just assumed that the majority of people would be 18/19 and itd be very rare to have a 21 yr old in that group.

Feel a lot better about the whole thing now though.

In 1st year of college so not entirely sure, itll definitely be business related, probably finance/finance management/accounts.

In the UK you can drink at 18 so theyll be no-one whos underage at uni.

had an essay worth 30% that i thought was due today but it was due yesterday. (well it was due on the 13th but you could hand it in up to a week later with a penalty). good excuse that will work?

I would go with the straight up truth i'm a dumbass excuse..... depending on the teacher it has the best shot of any

this. but to be honest if i'm the professor it's too bad unless there was something like you were or a family member was admitted to the hospital for something serious.

agreed, i don't think you are getting an extention with any excuse really but that one is the most likely to win for you

I legit just had this happen me. I turned it in 4 ish days late. Got 40 points off

I feel like retrospect excuses have a FAR lower % chance of working. When you approach them I'd definitely use the "I'm a dumbass" route. If you were gonna have a family member in the hospital or whatever, you gotta send that excuse way sooner. Plus, having a full week of grace period is usually the professor's way of saying "don't try any bull**** excuses" IME

Definitely expect to take a hit on the grade, but most profs won't completely **** you over. If you do expect leniency, make sure the paper's done when you talk to them about it.

Sorry brahs gotta vent for a sec here since sending hate emails isn't classy.

I've been teaching tennis every summer at this tennis club for 5 years (since I was 14). 5 years of always being professional, always on time, and always giving 100% effort. Not a single complaint from kids, parents, or anyone. Every year I go above and beyond with maintenance projects around the club. Every year all the adults I teach give me rave reviews after the end of their program.

Today I get an email from the junior tennis coordinator (worked under her for 2 years, and a previous one for 3) informing me that I will not in fact be teaching this year due to "lack of enthusiasm", and that she has decided to hire 4 new instructors THAT HAVE NEVER EVEN ****ING BEEN AN INSTRUCTOR BEFORE AND HAVE ZERO EXPERIENCE. Like seriously do you have ****ING BRAIN YOU ****ING MINDLESS kUNT????

Insult to injury, one of the instructors she hired is a KID I ****ING USED TO TEACH!!!!

so yeah, my summers pretty ****ed because that was the most awesome and rewarding job I've ever had. It amazing to teach some of the same kids for 5 years and see their game develop, and watch them become ****ING BEASTS on the court. I know getting **** canned is a part of life, and that most bosses you work for are incompetent, but this is insane.

oh and to answer the obvious question "you mad???"

Well either your work wasn't as good as you thought or your boss is crazy. Doesn't add up otherwise. It's probably the latter - cant you get a similar job given your experience and being able to get rave reviews from clients?

There was another similar job (leading a sports camp) but the deadline has already passed, I just assumed I was going to get this job like an idiot. I live in a small ass town in the middle of nowhere and have no means of transportation, I'm really limited in my options. I'm thinking about starting a grass company though, should be ez money.

Go over her head and ask why you weren't renewed? That or tell management you'll do the coordinator job for 3/4 of her pay.
