Tell her to go to law school and use her hand reading skills to impress a judge and get a prestigious clerkship.

Honestly though, you don't have to give up poker while in law school. Probably can't log pro hours but she can scratch the poker itch. I four-tabled during class on my laptop, and you're only in class a few hours a day, so there's time to play at home. I played a decent amount and did well in law school.

Also, planning on being a pro player isn't the best decision for an American nowadays.

although giving advice to law students recently became 'creepy' I think I'll try to warn her of making the decision topay sticker at a T12 lightly. the other red flag was that she continued to interview for jobs over the summer and but stuck to law when she was not offered.

You can call it whatever you want. It's help and the student is glad to hear it.

Re: Law School

Pretty sure most of what's considered "creepy" now was standard until about 20 years ago.

I must have missed something...

BTW Something to remember:
I went to Mohegan for the Summer something or other tournaments. I got up there late on Wednesday because 2 judges had hard ons and if I didn't go to see them before I left they were going to go into toxic shock. Then just as I was leaving the office, money walked through the door and sent me back another couple of hours.
Thursday I must have received 15 calls from the office often interrupting my poor train of thought over the minutia of running the practice the first one coming from the office manager at 8AM... Then my brilliant secretary (not really brilliant but a nice kid anyway) informed me on Friday in the middle of a heater that I had meeting with someone at NOON (this was at 11AM and I am 2.5 hours from the office) b/c he forgot to call her and cancel it in the beginning of the week. He also planned a meeting for five. Basically they managed to piss me off all week I got little enjoyment from the trip (though thanks to some stellar play at the cash tables I managed to be up a little).

I am telling you this in case you are thinking about small/solo practice. I do love it, but it has it's limits sometimes.
