I mean after getting sworn in, why not just make an llc and advertise for free on craigslist/make a website? Just pick one little niche. Read up on it and then target clients you could help. I guess that's an uphill battle but it's not that much harder than hustling for a job.

get a feel for the work. build job experience.

will probably look good in the eyes of the bar too.

i sure i hope i passed the bar exam. I don't really know what I will do if I didn't. I can't imagine continuing to work and going through that again. btw, I'm 2-0 in summary judgments!!

I have to point out that even though legal writing might be the most important skill, there is nothing more important than your GPA. When sorting through a thousand clerkship applications, the last thing we looked at was your writing grade.

Thanks. How good would you say an "Honors" in legal writing looked? how much GPA could it compensate for? E.g., what's a better combination, 3.3 gpa with a Pass in leg writing, or a 3.0 with an honors?

In today's ego-crushing news, girl is in MD/JD program; 2 years of med school, then joined our class to get a JD in two years via overloading including a journal, finally in May she graduates and goes back to finish the last two years of med school.

She's not the one I complained about a while back, but definitely counts as an overachiever.

I remember seeing a commercial a long time ago, probably for a PI firm where the guys were like WE'RE DOCTORS AND LAWYERS. I couldn't figure out why someone would do 4 years of med school and 3 of law school .

Gotta get paid big time to do that MD/JD program imo.
