I'm glad that knowing whether or not a judge can donate the political campaign of his ex-wife's brother who also works for a company that used to litigate in his court but has no pending actions, is potentially standing in my way of becoming a lawyer.

Re: Law School

that the problem with the MPRE

you will read the question and think "i know the answer is yes"

then the choices will be

A) Yes, because.....

B) Yes, because.....

C) No, unless....

D) No, unless....

So you think you could eliminate the No's but then they do the "unless" crap.

is your practice affected by the economic downturn? are people in your department concerned?

do you think your firm will match skadden's bonus structure or just follow cravath?

Re: Law School

Someone tell me which schedule is better:

M- 5:30-7:30pm (White Collar Crime)
T- 9am-5pm (Internship)
W- 8:30-10:00 (Mergers & Acquisitions), 11:00-3:00 (Internship)
T- 9am-5pm (Internship)
F- 8:30-10:00 (M&A)

or

M- 9am-5pm (Internship)
T- 10:00-11:50 (Copyright), 1:00-5:00 (Internship)
W- 9am-5pm (Internship)
T- 10:00-11:50 (Copyright)
F- ....

Pros of first schedule:

-Interested in class subject area, cool professors.
-Get out friday at 10am and nothing til Monday at 5:30pm

Pros of second schedule:
-Done at noon on Thursday, Fridays completely off
-Only one exam (I need 4 credits and Copyright is 4. Other way I take 5 credits and end up with an extra one)
-Extra hour of sleep a couple mornings

Having class more than 2 days a week as a Spring 3L is a HUGE BEAT. I only have TR, and don't start until 1:30.

Well with the first schedule I don't even really count M or F as days with class. On Mondays, I will go to that class dressed for the gym, play poker during class, and then head to my gym which is right by school. Or I'll skip. Same goes for Friday. I can be up, done with class and gym by noon. I basically have a four day weekend, and I can take a 4 day weekend for real whenever I want.

If I hadn't done the internship, I could have easily done one class that meets TR and a Tue seminar and a Thu seminar, but too late now.

Re: Law School

two professors with "open book final exam" on the syllabus.

One just confirmed that we can "bring in anything except a friend to the exam"

The other just confirmed that "open book means the book and your notes"

**** the second guy.
