Ithaca/Cornell 2+2er's Ithaca/Cornell 2+2er's

I just moved in for my freshman year at Ithaca and was wondering if there were any other 2+2er's in the area.

Stinger (Brian Hastings) AKA the high stakes player is a Cornell student.

I went to Cornell and graduated like 5 years ago. If you do some searching it was pretty easy to find a game and that was a long time ago.

I'm in Ithaca, not going to school though.

I graduated about 2 years ago, but here's my advice for trying to find a game. There's a couple guys on the What school do you go to? thread from Cornell that you could try to contact. Hit up charity poker tournaments and casino nights to see who plays. Keep an eye out for dorm games or start your own. There are usually at least 3-5 guys in any fraternity who play so go to parties and see if you can get info on any games. There used to be a Cornell Poker Club that arranged some of the largest buy-in cash games at the time, but I don't know if it still exists. Good luck and try not to dive off the bridge.

Big games when I went were usually run by the Law School kids.........they were 1-2 NL at the time.

Yeah, just avoid any run by a guy named Hastings. . .lol

I'm a senior at Cornell, played a few games around campus Freshman/ Sophomore year. There's a Yahoo group that used to be semi-active, kind of dead now but occasionally people post about games: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/...&sec=dir&slk=5

lol, I did go to high school with him, but the we're about 5 years apart, so it doesn't really count for much.

I will check out that group though. Thanks.

Bumped for the second semester because my first attempt failed miserably.

I keep hearing about how chill all the hippies/dive bars in Ithaca are. Plus they have an amazing music grad school program. Hmm..... might be making a visit this semester.

I'll be visiting some friends at cornel throughout the year coming from philadelphia at school

Alright, I'm going to give this a bump.

I'm going back for my second year and am definitely looking for some games in the area (starting some if necessary) or running some trips to Turning Stone (which is ~2 hours away). If people are interested, I would not mind trying to put it together, so let me know.

fynthase, are you going to Ithaca or Cornell?

Is there a regular game around here now? If not, does anyone want to start one?

All my best,

I'll be going there in August. Looking for/to start a game if you are down.

Also, anyone recommend some off-campus housing that is within ~20-25 (or shorter of course) minutes walking distance from Biotech/Biology Quad? I visited 3 weeks ago but I wasn't really paying attention during our housing tour.

I don't know the area that well and I probably won't get a chance to visit again before I attend in the fall.

Thought I'd bump this just in case there were any games going on/school just started and thread is pretty far back.

PM me if you got any type of game going on.

Another bump, if that's all right. I host a very occasional and very small game, .10/.20 NLHE. Open to introductions over PM. Say hello, whatever.

Would be interested in finding a game as high as 1/2, but couldn't host it.

I'm in ithaca also and would definitely up for a regular game if one is happening.
PM me.

You a student?

So there's been a game usually 2-3x / wk downtown. T,R $1-$1, S $1-$2, but I sense that it's struggling. Didn't run last Sunday or last night.

**** I just remembered there was someone that I was supposed to meet up that was a 1st year grad student at Cornell. I totally forgot about that. If that was you and you happen to read this. I'm down to meet up and hang out/play in a home game or something like that.
