Creation of Poker Club on campus Creation of Poker Club on campus

Hi Poker Fans,

My name is Marton Bots and I am a student-athlete at the University of Washington (Seattle).

I am in the process of creating the Husky Poker Club on campus. Any thoughts on how shall I recruit fans, players?

Our campus has 36.000 students so I am sure a lot of people would play poker and share ideas. My initial thought was to contact the Math and the Statistics Department and try to get help from them.

Any comment would be appreciated
Thanks

typically your first step is to find a faculty adviser.

I'm a grad student in the stat dept at UW and have been trying to get a game going with some of the other grad students. Marton, if you start something, please let me know because I'd love to join in. A guy I used to work with is teaching some sort of poker class at Duke, and it would be interesting to maybe get something similar started at UW.

Would the university have a problem with the gambling aspect? I wonder if they would be supportive of a poker club for that reason
