Cheeky bastard.

That DC game blew my mind, Jason in seat 2 ended up with over 6k at one point, and I managed to claw my way back to a £1200-£1400 stack before I had to head off. The 6card double flop Omaha was taking everyone ages to work out who had won what, the guy to my right almost missed out on 1/4 of a pot which I spotted (dealers didn't know the games, all players were involved at showdown at working out winning hands!).

How did your tournament go?

Re: The Bristol student poker thread

I busted around 3am. I had a small slice of a couple of people who went deep though, so it wasn't a total failure of a weekend.

What was the hand with Seat 2 where he won all the chips. Seat 1 (Possibly called Rahna) said something about having the nuts with a redraw and Seat 2 binked a straight flush. Is that right? It was quite a sight seeing that much money stacked up with the highest value chip being a £25.

6 card double flop omaha:

top board is KQ9ssx2s, bottom is A86ddxQd. All money goes in turn (im all in on flop, pot is £600-800). I have AT997x with Thigh diamonds. Seat one has A6ssJTxxXXxx for nut straight and nfd top, 2 pair bottom. They get 2k+ in on turn, seat 2 has KxKJss55xxXXxx. Top river is Ts giving him straight flush, bottom board is blank 5 giving him a set (I believe) to scoop vs nut flush on top and 2 pair on bottom. I win main pot on bottom board with flush.

****, thats a hard hand to describe!

Re: The Bristol student poker thread

£1/£1 DC with them lot would have played more like £5/£5, particularly if they bring along their big guns who love to gamble. It's definitely a profitable game, but the short-term swings are eye-watering

It's pretty even to be honest, but the OneWay tournaments are £150 at the Gala now.

FYI Gala are changing their schedule - 1st Sunday is now the £100, rest of the month it's a £40+5 +1RE. Plus I think they're planning to put £2k GTD UKIPT satties on Sundays/Mondays too.
