It seems that the clearcut best answer is, start talking about weekends in ure small talk (as henry suggested), wait till she has nothing on/you have something cool, then invite her. If that fails, or if this opportunity happens first, suggest getting drinks after big test/assignment/exam.

I just cant imagine straight up asking a girl on a date in that situation. Am I just a pussy? It just seems so much easier/less awkward the way I suggested.

Anyone can offer advice on aproaching girls around campus that you may not have classes with / will otherwise never see again?

Usually I will casually say hi, introduce myself. Ask her for her name. Make a little small talk relative to the situation and then make up some excuse for having to leave and ask her for her number or mention that we should hangout / do something along the way of the conversation

Generally when I hear small talk I think either you discuss stuff about class or you discuss stuff you did on the weekend. If the latter then you should be able to figure out if she has a BF or not.

If you are not discussing what you do on the weekend then you should. That will give you an idea of what she is into and also give you a perfect segue into inviting her to something.

Yeah we talk about essays/ reading assignments. We joke about stupid **** the teacher or other students say that no one else seems to get or think is funny.

What if I don't have a life on the weekends? I work graveyard every fri sat night. I might get one Friday or saturday off a month but I use the opportunity to play in better cash games at my club.

Firstly, slowly add non class related topics to the conversation. Tlaking about class is kinda boring

Substitute weekend with midweek events. I assume you are at college in which case mid week drinking should be a mainstay.

If you dont really drink, and she doesnt seem to either, substitute whatever activity non drinking college students do. If she is a normal college girl who parties, and you arent, you probably have very little chance
