Re: SL "ask a bunch of guys on the internet about mackin da fly honeyz" Thread-Come Write a Let
I forgot to comment on the link to that PUA shooting a chick in the face. Absolutely ****ing absurd, these are the guys that PUA people look up to. Misogynistic losers.
That's not to say PUA isn't valuable, a lot of it is just turning social interaction into a science. And a lot of it is correct. But the Gunwitch example shows that it is also a lot of horny deadbeat losers regurgitating **** they think sounds good.
I think what a lot of you guys are missing is that a big part of a relationship for goofy is comfort and relaxation. He doesn't want to change himself, doesn't want to feel he's putting on an act, any of that. So most of what you guys are saying is irrelevant for him.
Personally, I think a lot of PUA **** is stupid, but it also can help bag a much higher quality woman when I'm ready to settle down. I don't mind a little pressure to be the best person I can be, so I try to apply it here and there, when I think it's appropriate. But there are lots of guys that just don't wanna deal with it, don't have to, and still end up in happy relationships. It's about finding someone that is compatible with you. Only a small % of guys in the real world know anything about PUA, and another small % of guys it just comes naturally to. It's not like if you don't do PUA you're in the bottom 10%ile of all men or something.
Anyway, I think this is sort of a stupid derail. Can we get some Friday night drunken hook up TR's to get the thread back on track?

EDF guys always type sooooo many words to get their point across.
so.... there's a direct correlation between girls having all those old pittbull dance songs on their ipod and being huge sluts right?

A question to anyone who cares to answer (in an effort to figure out why my views are so different from everyone else's):
I went to the grocery store on the way home from work, bought some wine w/ my groceries, and the checkout dude IDs me. As I give him my ID, there's an old lady in line behind me who says "you should hope they ID you for as long as possible!" or something of that nature, and I kind of laugh awkwardly and participate half-heartedly in the following banter between her and the cashier (some of which, much to my chagrin, is directed specifically at me).
Stuff like this annoys the **** out of me. In situations like this where I'm not really seeking social interaction I pretty much just want to be left alone and not deal with people. Is that abnormal?

It should come as no surprise to you that I react the same way to such things.

Cashiers really should STFU. I've been one, and while I was pleasant and cordial to each customer, I knew that I should keep it to a smile, a hello, followed by scanning their items and giving them a total and (if applicable) their change in return, followed by "have a nice day" or some variation of that.
If a customer starts a conversation up, then no problem, I can be friendly and engage them...but the cashier should let the customer take the lead on such things.

Re: SL "ask a bunch of guys on the internet about mackin da fly honeyz" Thread-Come Write a Let
I think it depends on the situation. In your situation goofy, I probably feel sort of neutral. On one hand I have no interest in interacting with these people, on the other hand it's sort of nice when I have to interact with people to not just act like an ant and pass by them. So while nothing is great about this interaction, it at least makes a necessary evil (checking out) feel a bit more human.
Something a little similar happened yesterday. This old woman started talking to me on public trans. I had my ****ing earphones in and had to take htem out to heare her ask me something stupid about the bag I had with me. Then she started talking about her son's bag and all about ****ing bags and she kept saying something worthless every couple minutes so i had to take my earphones in, say "What?" then nod and repeat the word "Yeah" awkwardly until she stopped and then go back listening to music for another minute or two. That sort of annoyed me and I was really frustrated with her. I think it's much worse than your situ cause in yours you necessarily have to interact with people, at least minimally. Here I was just sitting by myself listening to music.
Then today at the library I repaid the favor to society. I saw this really cute girl (8ish) and asked if she ever wanted to get lunch. She had to awkwardly lie and tell me she had a boyfriend.

Could you find your old posts on her to catch us up? Or just give us cliffs? Way too hard to remember an "A" from a long damn time ago.

Re: SL "ask a bunch of guys on the internet about mackin da fly honeyz" Thread-Come Write a Let
Bc apparently I feel like being a glutton for punishment:
Update on the situation where I asked the girl to a (lol) movie:
Mentioned before that she backed out with an excuse that could have been legit given circumstances. Based on the fact that she isn't back in town yet (we start school Monday), I know it was bs. Oh well. Over break I didn't contact her, she texted me a few days before christmas about some movie she was watching that kinda related to our group of friends, we exchanged a few texts but nothing big. No contact again until she texted to wish me a merry xmas, ask what I got, etc. I mentioned that my family was apparently all obsessed with a show she'd gotten me to watch w/ her earlier in the semester, she says we're watching it weekly this semester. After that nothing until I text her a day before NYE to see if she's staying home or going to our college town where I headed, she said she's staying home and mentioned something else but I didn't text further. Texted her a picture of something re: an inside joke, her response was kinda short and so I left it at that.
She was tagged in some picture with her arm around the other dude I mentioned from when he was visiting and some girl from back home commented 'its love' on it, so I'm guessing it's just about gg for my chances, but who knows. One of her housemates had a similar picture of me and her with the caption 'such love' and she 'liked' that (shoulda made a move then? except there was other stuff going on that made me reluctant to)..that was like 2 months ago though so no real relevance at this point. We'll see how things play out..we have a class together so regardless of social plans I'll be seeing her often..right now my inclination is not to make any moves until I see how she's acting and then adjust if I see openings.
Other girl is back from being abroad and seems excited to hang out so will be doing that soon.

I can see how it might seem this way, but I don't think the reality of the thread has really shifted THAT dramatically.
Sure, the prevailing goal of the "old" regs (me, you, karak, tbe, lkj, yeota, etc.) is significantly different from what toph, GcG, Mittens, etc. bring to the table. In spite of this difference I find a lot of value in reading their thoughts on things and hope they see value in mine as well. If anything I feel like it makes the thread more complete because IMO there was never enough disagreement amongst the old regs in this thread for it to be as constructive as it could be.
