1) you cant plan what youre gonna say line for line. you have no idea what shes gonna respond with, and i dont think insulting her shoes and calling her a follower is the right way to go.
2) lol at "any ideas anyone for random crazy **** to say though?" this isnt a movie bruh. sure, break out in song.
3) youre already setting yourself up for failure by 1) putting her on a pedestal, 2) saying itt "i realize i have a minimal chance", and 3) being a pusssy.
4) just be freaking normal dude. youre gonna go in all over-eager, bushy tailed. heres a secret: girls dont like over eager hyper excited freshmen who insult them.

i just wanna say i've never been with a girl except for at a college halloween party and didn't give a **** about girls in high school and only started thinking about interacting with them once i got to college, so obv i'm very very new to all of this, which would explain why i am taking so many wrong turns

but i have a long time to learn so its ok

freshman year is the easiest time to get girls cause everyone is so new and freshman girls are breaking free and being sluts.

that being said, if you are serious about learning, i suggest you re-read this thread, search bond18 and read his threads, and listen to the advice given instead of taking your own route and then asking why youre doing it wrong.

I don't mind him asking, but I'm just trying to get him to come up with his own answers rather than being spoonfed them. I blame law school and its socratic method for doing that to me.

That said the 3 basic mistakes you are making:

1) Putting her on a pedestal
2) Planning it out and trying to use canned lines
3) Being unoriginal

I highly doubt you weren't involved with girls in HS because you "didn't care" or "they didn't interest you." Some behavior was off. Figure out what it is, change and adapt. You can still be yourself, but you need to be more confident in yourself and your abilities.

I'd say planning it out is bad. The canned lines, however cheesy, if you're a good enough actor and they are good lines you can pull them off. I've never tried it myself but I've seen it work for others. I'd recommend not using the canned lines though.

and to the responders, i prob look a little older than my age, and i think facebook poke is a bad idea. i've read its creepy, and i don't even know her name

Sorry but that's just terrible all around. It reminds me of when I was like 11 or something and I had just discovered I had a dick and I'd make up these dream scenarios of how I'd spend time with a girl, kiss her on NYE etc etc. All straight up crazy talk.

If you find a spot next to her of if she sits beside you then great, take it from there then. If you're not in a very large school you're probably gonna meet her on a party sometimes soon anyways.

you cant go in trying to make her like you, you need to not give a **** if she likes you or not and make her want YOU to like HER.

also the pedestal you have her on is gonna make this impossible. maybe you will get lucky and she will use you for awhile so can try and get some.
