Lie on there resume and say they were a day trader instead of a poker player?

Isnt this a great way to cover it up professionally? Maybe not, but as long as youre not seeking a job in the financial sector, you could just show them your W2's if they didnt believe you and you were a winning poker player.

Could make up any number of lies if you're so inclined. No reason to limit it to just 'day trader'. Could make it be any profession. Also lol at them not believing you and then showing W2s for proof. Pretty sure that has never happened.

Personally, I don't think you should lie. I'd leave it somewhat vague on the resume, maybe even something like 'investment analyst' and then if they ask you about it at an interview just be honest and say you were a professional poker player, you analyzed many 'investment decisions', were profitable and sustained a living for x years.

there's probably other threads on 2p2 with better terminology than 'investment analyst'
