i was just diagnosed before xmas and since taking adderall i dont tilt and i am able to walk away instead of usualy staying and losing my profits.

this it has helped me have self control and focus which has been the reason for me being able to actually make a profit and not go lose it all after a bad sesion after going on tilt.

the only side effects i got was headaces when it was wearing off, and realy bad headaches which lasted all day if i didnt take it which would then make very frustrated and the little thing s people did anoyed the **** out of me.

also if u did take it start on a low dossage just to see how you react to it.
one day i decided to take an extra days supply when it was wearing off as i was playing in a live tourny and needed something and by the morning i started to feel real bad. was very close to ringing an ambulance.
This sounds like a one-way track to dependency.

Re: Adderall with poker?

I'm not a Dr., nor do I play one on tv. So, this question is better posed to your shrink, because that's who's gonna have to write the script. As with any medication, there may be side effects that may outweigh the benefit your would get from taking it. While the guys on the forum may mean well, unless they are docs or pharmacists, I would take anything posted on here with a grain of salt.

Talk to a Doctor.

But who knows, maybe I am just prone.
Wait you were taking 10 30xrs a day and doing 2.5 grams of coke a day. wtf? uhhh were u like 80 pounds during the time?

Re: Adderall with poker?

I use adderall to study sometimes but using it for poker is dumb. You enjoy playing poker so why start up with aaddy. What's next? You'll use adderall to learn how to play the guitar, to read a book etc. It's a slippery slope.

On top of that, if you use it excessively, it messes with your dopamine and is incredibly addictive. Just seems like a stupid idea imo

No, I stayed in pretty good shape considering the situation. My heart on the other hand took a little damage I'm sure.

I'll chill with Tony Yayo n Lady Gaga 2x month tops these days.. adderall scripted daily and I hate the doc for it. Will power some times is a SOB.

Just thought id chime in that ive had mixed results with addy and poker, leaning towards the negative though.

Sometimes it would make me play solid and focused, other times i would sit there like a zombie, be antisocial, have weird feelings like being afraid to raise and have people be aware of me at the table. The worst part is how compulsive it makes you, i can not stop playing if i am on it, i can not leave till the game breaks or I break, even when i know its -EV and making me play like ****.

And its addicting, and will ruin your personal relationships. It is pure evil.

However, i did learn how to play banko, learned how to program, got a lot better at jazz piano (i played before adderall), learned guitar and educated myself on a bunch of other topics while on weeks long binges. However, you should do this anyway, without the drugs.

Stay away
You dont have ADD or ADHD, you just need to find ways to cope with what society tells you is a disorder but is usually nothing more than having a different personality type that in its own has advantages .

Re: Adderall with poker?

OP, go to the search and type in adderall...you will find plenty to keep you busy...but on a personal note, the side effects outweighed the benefits so I switched to concerta...smooother and works great with poker imo. gl

Yeah I agree with his comment... It's different for everyone, like what he said too, better mood makes everyone tilt. I don't think for you is also the same because we have different opinions.

Re: Adderall with poker?

So are all US students 'Cheating' in studying and exams? In the UK its v uncommon to take performance enhancing drugs for studying, kinda wish I had, feel like I am at a disadvantage since US students are judged with higher avg grades than their ability!
