Lifting isn't for everyone if your just going to the gym to try to get ripped/fit to get girls don't go lol that's a horrible reason. Don't do that crossfit crap either it's aids.
Like poker there is a strategy to lifting once you plateau at a certain point u'll understand.
Just set your goal to bench x amount, backsquat x amount, deadlift x amount and then achieve it slowly (Make sure ur form is immaculate go on youtube/google that sht and watch pro lifters from china/3rd world country or whatever do that sht and take what u can get from it or find someone who knows what they r doing in the gym or bodybuilding forums) ... don't waste ur time on other random lifts AT FIRST.

I can't help u with studying part, it's basically mind over matter for bull sht u aren't passionate about. I know man it sucks studying/researching stuff u really find no interest in.
