Kidding aside, our apologies we were a bit late. There was a question as to whether or not we would have both the old and new poker rooms available for the summer.
I understand. And I know the environment you guys operate under.

I see the levels are only 30 minutes long in the Wynn Summer Classic $400 events this year. I really wish they still had 40 minute levels like the excellent $400 Summer Classic event I played in last year.

30 minute levels is a big disappointment. They got rid of the $270+30 tournaments which I was okay with, but to go with mostly $400 and then 30 minutes is bad. Wynn was my go to place if nothing big was happening plus I made it a priority to play in the seniors, main event, and most of the multiple entry events.

I see the starting stacks and level times but I do not see the structures. Am I missing something. I sure hope levels have not been removed in addition to all the other changes.

Hi 9Iron, the $400 daily's will be the exact chips and structure as last year's $300 events. The $400 you are referring to with 40 minute levels would have been a multi-day. Both the $600 250k and the $1100 500k will have 40 minute levels (while the Championship will be 60).

Hi Noz, if you recall, last year's $300 daily's finished at roughly 2 am. This year, we decided to keep the same structure and levels in order to finish at the same time.

Unfortunately, keeping the slow structure and extending to 40 minute levels wasn't an option for the daily, as it would likely extend the tournament until 5-6 am, which would be 17 hours of play. In our opinion, that is just too long for a daily, especially when players likely have another event to play the following day.

We discussed going to 40 minute levels and taking out a few levels, but opted for the slower structure instead.

Incidentally, the $550 100k daily will have the same structure but with a larger stack.

As mentioned, we haven't removed any levels for any of the events. Getting the structures up in the next day or two is our top priority, sorry for the delay. I will post the link asap.

I sent you a suggestion for an event concept for 2017. Hope you consider the plan for implementation. Its a winner if properly executed

Ok, you made the $400 dailies 30 minute levels and said everything else the same, but $550 tournaments have some with 30 minute levels. Not what I thought you were representing. I will play the seniors and main but that is probably it for this year. Last year, I played at least 10 events.

Noz22, all daily events ($400 - $50K guarantees and $550 - $100K guarantees) have the same structure as last year with 30 minute levels. This is in order to keep these events single day events.

The $400, $50K guarantee dailies will start with 12,000 in chips and likely last until approximately midnight - 1 a.m.

The $550, $100K guarantee dailies will start with 15,000 in chips and likely last until approximately 2 - 3 a.m.

We decided not to go to 40 minute levels on our dailies so that we did not have to compromise our structure, and still have the tournament finish at a reasonable time, allowing players to play any next day's tournament as well.

We do have two events that are $600 buy-ins ($545/55) that are both multiple day events. The Seniors event will begin on 6/13 and finish on 6/14 and the $250K guarantee event will have three starting flights (7/5-7/7, with day two on 7/8). Both of these events will have 15,000 in starting chips and 40 minute levels.

We apologize for any confusion and hope this changes your mind about playing our dailies.

Just a reminder to everyone coming to Wynn, the Summer Classic tournaments are all being held in the original poker room on the Wynn side, while the cash games are being played in the new poker room on the Encore side.

You may register in either room. Thanks for playing and have a great summer.

Can you let me know what day/time/circumstance (ie play-out, chop, etc) the main event ended? I wish I could have played. It looked like a great event. Next year, if you hold a similar event in a similar timeframe, hopefully it can end no later than Monday. For those of us taking lots of time off during the WSOP, it becomes difficult to extend trips long after the WSOP Main Event. The weekend following the ME day 1 is usually when I'm looking to wrap things up.

Hi akashenk, thanks for the post. The third and final day started at noon on Tuesday, 7/19. They played it out and the heads up match finished at approximately 6:00 am on Wednesday morning. It was a great event and we're already looking forward to next year.

We certainly understand that extending this far past the Main isn't optimal for many players who have already stayed in town for weeks. However, putting a large gtd directly against the One Drop wasn't something we were prepared to do. Perhaps next year we can find a time frame that finishes a little earlier.

Thanks again for your feedback. If you're looking for a reason for another trip, the Fall Classic schedule will be out shortly and will be held end of Sept/beginning Oct.

I vote for 10% pays ; please get off the wsop express, that is in less the Wynn would like to add to the prize pool.

The new 15% rule hurt me this year, however, I think it is better for poker. Let's keep it.

Yeah, the WSOP got fewer entries for that event this year despite its apparent premium timeslot. Hopefully they won't hold it the same time next year as a result.

Another thing you might consider is to hold it during the July 4th timeframe. Its seems like the Venetian tends to cater to cash over that holiday and the other venues usually have tourneys in the $400-$600 range. I think a large guarantee $1500 tourney with a good structure might be a success over such a busy weekend. And next year you could have Day 1s on Friday/Sat, with day 2 on Sunday and scheduled final day on Monday, the day off for most folks.

I don't think that its good for poker, only in the minds of some. The stories of going deep into a 15% tournament and receiving a marginal payout are rife and though more get paid the money has to come from somewhere and therefore correspondingly a tourney will become top heavy with the other 50% of monies stripped from the people who worked through he middle to be near the top. Phew, that was long..

The house isn't doing anyone a favor for this approach as they add nothing to the prize pool and have the contestant believing that it is a bonanza due to the 15% payout. The bonanza is 10-11 % and works well.

Frickin" socialists...
