Two questions about schedule:

1) if a tournament is not labeled as far as number of entry allowed (monster stack), does that mean it's a freezeout?
2) why is a tournament labeled as 30 min levels? Aren't all except the main 30 min levels?

30 min levels means it stays at 30. Most events go up to 40 and 60 later on.

Not a good omen for the year...two WSOP-C schedules out and neither is worth traveling to enter.

I second that. I assume you are saying that mostly for the lack of variety of games (no O8 or HORSE).

pretty much every stop is all NL ring events with the exception of one non NL ring which is usually a plo, plo/8 or congress.

Yes. I had more fun in Vegas the first two weeks of June with the various draw games that some of the series were running, which was also part of why I structured my travels the way I did. I try to carve out time in the work schedule for the properties that will spread something OTHER than a bunch of NLHE where the only thing that changes is number of players at the table or the buy-in...

Hammond was a good example...did not bother me that the HORSE was a $580 event- I made time to get there. Contrast that with NOLA a few months ago, which I skipped even though it is a short flight away after they had once again gone all NLHE.

At least the Beau is running some other events in their Gulf Coast event...

There was a time where greater variety existed. I am reasonably certain that I am not the only one who traveled to more events in those days, even when the non-NLHE events were at the $580 level (ie. Hammond HORSE)

The reason for a lack of non NHL games is simple numbers if you have a NLH that draws 600-700 players do you want to replace it with a non NLH that draws 200-300? Non NLH players are very vocal but fewer in numbers. Casinos put on these events to make money and player numbers are money. If non NLH events would draw 600-700 and NLH events drew 200-300 you would see few NLH.

Bigtex, maybe you are the man the answer this. Event #6 which does not specifically say re entry or freezeout...safe to assume its freezeout if doesn't state either? Thanks

IMO if it doesn't state either freeze out or reentry one could assume it is a freeze out.

You're 100% right, NLH is the most popular form of poker so it's logical to see most of the tourneys played as NLH. I think we all agree.
But there's a gap between "most of the tourneys" and "95% of the tourneys". We're talking about the World Series of Poker here, not the World Series of Hold'em.
At least 2 of the 12 rings played at each stop should be non-NLH.

1) you have to start somewhere. Sadly, they would probably stick it on a Wednesday morning specifically to kill off entries and then claim there was insufficient turnout.
2) by having it as an all NLHE schedule, they keep my ass out of ANY seats, so it is costing them money that would have been spent, not only on entry fees but also ancillary spending to include food, room and possibly other gaming.
3) Players should not have to wait for June to be able to play something that isn't effing hold'em...

FWIW there are three out right now. Cherokee, Seminole Hard Rock, and Biloxi.

Had not seen Seminole discussed here yet, but it doesn't change my position...another one that isn't worth traveling to since it is simply another NLHE-fest.

Not much action in this thread, but am not surprised as it's probably a lot of old $ in the area not many posters that play there. However I should expect cash games (2/5) to remain 10 handed, time rake , no max at Beau to remain in place during their series running parallel to wisp, however what should I expect for cash at IP 2/5+ in terms of game structure, as they don't have higher than 1/3 on pokeratlas for IP

Thank you

Thank you
From what I remember 2 years ago IP occasionally had a 2/5 going on the weekend, nothing higher and not for any length of time. If anything it was frustrated players tired of waiting to play at the Beau. The old deep pockets that play the Beau uncapped 2/5 didn't go to IP and the good games remained at the Beau. The only time they think of leaving is when IP has a car giveaway.

For the last ring event, event #12, the wsop site says it's an unlimited re entry, yet the ip website structure sheet says one re entry. Which one is correct?

A casino is supposed to follow Wsop guidelines.

I tried to use it online and it didn't work. Also all my free room offers are sold out for the days I tried. Probably will have to call.

Why would the beau run theirs the same week?

Anyways which one you guys think would be better? I've played in some beau events like the heater and the old spring break poker classic, but never played any wsop events before. I have played a wpt event at the IP 2 years ago.

Which would be softer? Which would the average amateur be more likely to play. I'm assuming wsop mostly because of the name. I'm also assuming wsop is gonna draw more entries in total. Beau would seem to draw the more "reg-loyals".

I tried to argue against them running the same week but was told that running them the same week was the smart thing to do.

I don't see how it is. There are a finite number of players in Biloxi. Running two tournament series at the same time that have to compete against each other is asinine. They're going to split all the players and make both of them smaller.
