Seems the good stud and stud/8 players are able to maximize the taking of those dead chips in the middle...while others whine about antes.

3 day tournaments for $1500 = bad structure. You just can't make up how ridiculous you sound.

Are there seriously people complaining about antes in a mix that has 3 stud variations? I mean, has anyone ever tried to play Stud/Stud8/Razz without antes? LOL.

Especially since they still didn't cash until about the 2nd level of Day 2. Later than your typical $1500 no limit counterpart and that's with the around 15% cash rate. Too many people forgetting now that the WSOP simply can't allow these small buyin tournaments [Yes, $1500 is a small buyin tournament in comparison to the overall average bracelet event buyin] to keep going on and on and on. The WSOP has already thrown the structure nits a bone with all these tournaments that have popped up in recent years that do go on for much longer periods of time. But they still complain about antes starting out in a poker variation that is essentially based around antes helping drive the action.

Your topic and premises are not crazy (I agree with many of them). There are several other people who agree with you that there could be things done to make structures better, still take roughly the same/little more time but with a larger starting stack.

The problem is your approach, simply calling anyone who doesn't agree dumb. akashenk has made some very good arguments and posts in this thread, take a page from his book and a better conversation will occur.

One of his posts from a little over a year ago likely puts things in perspective... http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...2&postcount=12

While 7500 may not be ideal, it is easy to see why someone who admits that they are not good at Stud games would whine about antes.

I've played several HORSE events where the first person did not bust out for many levels. And if you are routinely able to get to level 6,7 or 8 before you have more than a few out, it is difficult to say the stack is necessarily too short. What actually seems to kill the most people in the 7500 stack HORSE events I have entered is that they don't know when to avoid continuing in the Hold'em orbit...

And there is also the other fundamental issue of simply not entering the event if you don't like the starting stack. At WSOP time, it is not as though no other option exists for HORSE. Aria and the Nugget both had events and I believe PHo also had one. Orleans also ran some smaller mixed events but I did not get to play any of them due to my travel schedule...

Your right i can be lil abrasive
I also forget that reading a text.sometimes doesn't read as im.saying it
I cashed at aria and binions horse.luved there structure better.
Why play poker for 10days 7 days or even 3?
Can make.money faster at blackjack
Poker is so boring vause of the multidays
Its really cause most poker players are lazy and fat
Could have ealrier starting times with no breaks
And shorter levels
Make poker more harder then just any idiot with money can enter
Tired of all the fatasses and punk kids that never worked a day in there life and or havent served there country
More chips shorter levels and poker woild be fun again
Really
You enjoy sitting down for days.when theres oceans to scuba dive
