BUT...with the risk of carrying a large amount of cash. Not everyone banks with a megabank and can just hit a branch after landing at LAS. Quite frankly, I place most of my purchases on plastic to take advantage of the rewards...this includes the last two vehicles I purchased.

There is already a nice rake for the casino on the buy in, but now they're letting banks and third parties profit too? The interest that will be charged on those credit card users who don't pay their full amount at the end of the month on top of that convenience fee makes this option a loser. It's just another form of predatory lending and the organizers of the WSOP admitting that they're too inept to streamline a simple registration process.
It isn't predatory lending any more than the airlines or cruise companies that allow cardholders to charge their vacation are predatory. If someone chooses not to pay in full at the end of the cycle, that is on THEM, not the banks and certainly not the WSOP.
The fee being charged is not inconsistent with what many places have begun doing since Visa and Mastercard did away with the rules allowing a merchant to recoup the processing fee. I just wish they were set up to accept American Express since that is where I place the bulk of my spending...would also make it easier to allow for card payment on larger buy-in events.
