I was wondering what the theoretical top ROI would be in these megas. I was thinking the best person to answer this question would be someone with a lot of experience in online megas and has played the WSOP Megas before. I have played the WSOP Megas but I have do not have enough experience online to have a comprehension of what game conditions would correlate to what ROI. I would think someone who does have the experience online and has played the WSOP Megas would be able to compare the two and come up with a good estimation.

Here is the math. First assume 10% vig. Second, assume comparison to a 6700 player regular MTT.

If you were an average player your return would obviously be -10% for both. (ie getting allin with 50% chance to win the flip) If you were twice as likely to win a standard MTT, your ROI would be +33.46% for the MTT, but only +7.88% for the satellite. Being 2x as likely to win corresponds to getting allin on average as a 52.8% favorite.

If you were 3x as likely to win the MTT, your MTT ROI would be +70.37%, and your satellite ROI would be +19.93%. (this corresponds to a 54.51% allin advantage)

If you were 4x as likely to win the MTT, your MTT ROI would be +103.84% and your satellite ROI would be +29.3%. (this corresponds to a 55.76% allin advantage).

If the MTT was only 500 players, the ROI's for it would be lower since there is less money to win.

So here's the thing. You're not going to figure this out.

When you play online, you can get a real sample in a reasonable amount of time to calculate your ROI. If you play the WSOP dailies you can play all summer and you won't really know your ROI with any level of certainty.

You don't play them as an "investment" w/ an ROI - it simply doesn't last long enough. If you are a winning player, just play some, have fun, and hope for a score.

Yes of course that's true and I agree with you. That is the whole point of this thread though. Like I said in the post hopefully there is someone out there that has a lot of experience playing these online. With this experience they could be very familiar with the corresponding ROI for varying levels of skill of the field. Take that knowledge and try to ESTIMATE an ROI for the WSOP ones that they have experience playing.
