Cam, I understand that most here (who complain about the rake anywhere) seem to be 'Professional Players' who play for a living, but then there are the rest of us ... the ones with day jobs that are playing poker at the tables mostly for the for fun/Entertainment factor.
As long as I break even when I play in the live games, or do no worse than if I was playing the slots, and my money lasts me for a while before it goes over to the "pro players" at the table ... I'm happy.
As for tourneys ... if I get what I paid in for the tourney at the very least, and I have a fun/great time playing, and again, I don't bust out right away, it's great ... and if I make it into the money and and that money is anything over and above what I paid for, that even better.
Personally, I don't give two hoots about the rake myself, as I'm sure it's no worse than what the casino takes, when I'm playing the slot machines.
Just my opinion, for what it's worth ...

Re: WSOP Circuit tour 2012-2013
Anyone have any news on any schedules for the Horseshoe Southern Indiana? Did it make the 2012 WSOP Circuit Tour schedule, and if so, anyone know for what timeframe?

This is the exact player model, that enables them to raise the rake every year.

They are in negotiations with Foxwoods as soon as they sign up,
the schedual should be released.

your opinion is stupid for what it's worth...if we are all ok to pay $74 rake on a $291 buyin then we should all be ok to pay $84...it's only $10 more...what's $10? and who wants to handle change at the cage? just make it $400 even...
not to mention that it is getting into a new barrier psychologically that could deter fish from playing even if they are clueless about rake....
i understand that the wsop circuit is a $ loser for the wsop and they have to do what they need to do to try and make money....but we don't have to be ok with it.....
twitter seems to be a good place to gripe...everyone should at least send tweets to @wsop and complain and let them know that this level of rake is just too much

Re: WSOP Circuit tour 2012-2013
Congrats on the bracelet riva...
I cant say for sure whether I will participate alot in wsopc or not. I`m not happy about rake raising(unless most or all of it went to getting and paying for the best dealers), but at the end of the day it all comes down to EV. If a specific WSOPc and another series is going on at the same time, im taking the best EV no matter what. There is no doubt other series will have smaller rake, but depending on field sizes, who is running the series, and how the WSOPc does the national championship.

It is being built downtown in the area known as "Broadway Commons", the area some people wanted to build the Reds new stadium in the late 90s.

shocking that someone who plays the slots doesn't care about rake, just cut the casino a check and don't bother going

lol .. then where would be the fun in that?
Also, to the person who said the rake would scare away the fish ... fish don't care about rake .. most fish are there to have a good time (speaking as someone who at the cash table is considered a fish).

Interesting, according to what I see on Yahoo maps, it appears that the building will be a triangle or something of the like?

And (I am) the exact player Model that so called 'professional Poker Players' (aka ppl without day jobs who sit in casinos every day, playing poker) such as I'm guessing you consider yourself to be, make their money off of as well.
I've seen this argument a lot over the years, and I can tell you most players who play poker for just the fun of it, don't really give a rats arse about the rake. We just want to have some fun with it, and if we walk away with extra, even better. The main goal for an entertainment player such as myself, is that our money isn't blown in one hand (which is why I never play NL poker at the cash tables, only limit), and that it last us at least for a little while before handing it over to the so called 'pro players' at the table.

Re: WSOP Circuit tour 2012-2013
Is it possible that this is just a rake hike for Biloxi? Don't each individual casino determine the amount that they charge for the rake? Or is it determined by the partnership of the casino and WSOP, now in most cases they are the same entity, but in places like the Bike in LA they truly are two different companies...
