LOL, I agree but most do have free wifi in poker areas. Then charge a fortune for in room wifi.

I would be surprised if they change it, unless they add a special wifi network for Special Events Center. There is 3G coverage on the property for AT&T, but not sure about others. If you are outside the Casino/Hotel property, cell phone coverage is pretty dicey in the Cherokee area.

People need to understand that Cherokee NC is not Vegas, AC, or even Tunica. There is no other casino/poker competition anywhere near Cherokee. Things are going to be a little different, just have to get over it. When you factor in the total cost of playing in the WSOP-C, don't sweat the little stuff.

What are best driving directions form Durham? Coming in late so not the most scenic, but the easiest driving, safest, fastest way. Thanks!

I-40 West past Asheville to 441 North to Cherokee. Google Maps gets it right.

TheSmoky Mtn Inns and Suites must be a petri dish. Anyone know? I was surprised on how easy it was to book a room for the weekend after reading this thread.

Other than myself, where are the fish coming from? I know every ringer in Chattanooga is coming up as I'm sure Knoxville, ATL, etc

Based on reviews at Hotel.com I would advise that you bring your own toilet paper. Also, don't loose your key if coming back to your room late, because Front Desk is not manned 24x7.

A little expounding on that. I-40 West to Exit 27 ( Hwy 74, only one way to get off there). Follow Hwy 74 to Hwy 441 NORTH (74 and 441 join together for a little while, make sure you don't take the first Hwy 441 exit that goes south towards Atlanta). Where 441N splits off from 74 (exit to the right) follow 441N a couple of miles to "Casino Trail". This is a T intersection and you will turn right. This road will take you straight to the casino after about 1 mile (but, you could guess that from the name, right?)

I'll be there for the whole series; 4th-15th. Couple of questions: How many rings events do you think i can play in that time? I see to be the casino champion you have to have the most points. Should i play specific events or do they all have the same amount of points per event?
