Harrah's Cherokee will be getting partial live dealers (in addition to the existing PokerPro tables) in about 4 weeks. This will start out mostly for higher limit games. They will keep their PokerPro tables (or at least most of them).

Obviously, the live dealers will be around for the cash games during the WSOP-C and beyond that. All the WSOP-C events will utilize live dealers and be held in the Event Center next to the Poker Room.

Just for those who who have never played on PokerPro tables, they are live games, and play very similar to games with live dealers (except no tipping of dealers,and 50 hands per hour).

I have no problem with Poker Pro tables, I've played a lot on them at Cherokee and due to the ability to play twice as many hands per hour and not having to tip the dealer I really like them. They run their nightly tournaments on them and I like that too.

Just booked my nights for the event, I was lucky I had comps and I was able to get 5 weeknights free at Harrahs. I'm staying across the street for the weekend.

Be aware that parking is horrendous at Harrahs. Even during the week it's really hard to find a place in either deck. There is a large lot out front for the overflow but it's a trek from the entrance. A few months ago they started charging for valet parking for hotel guests and it's $12 every time you pull your car out.

I wouldn't recommend anyone staying in Gatlinburg. That would be a brutal drive after playing a long session plus if it snows which is possible they close that road often.

Any opinions on the limit event? I wonder if there will be any limit cash games around this time?

I hope there is a good turnout. Seems to be almost 50/50 on people thinking it will be good/bad turnout.

Asheville is only an hour away and a reasonably decent drive. I think Knoxville is about 2 hours and I think you have to go through Gatlinburg and the road between Gatlingburg and Cherokee is closed with no estimated re-opening date.

Asheville airport is closest and typically have better rates in my travels. About an hour from casino

Anyone know how to use comps for these series dates? They generally send me deals for the next month. I.e I have offers for march but afraid if I wait until my April offers come through then ill be sol.

Change room preference to Soco or Creek Tower. When I do this w/o offer code shows rooms are available and all are comped. You can only get 3 comped days in a row. I got 2 3-day blocks for the weekends and used a family members card for another 3day comp. Booked the weekend early on but just booked the other 3days(midweek) a few days ago. Call them up. If they won't comp you a room they usually will put you at an area hotel for free/reduced rate. Rack rates are high. $79 cheapest for a weekday up to $499 for a weekend in the spring/summer. Try code CHEPOKER if you call. Sent me this code a while back for stays during WSOPc. I would try website first. Everyone who I know who used CHEPOKER got quoted $79-129 per night. Area hotels are cheap. Many less than .5 from casino.
