Looking forward to the circuit here, as I do every year. Schedule on wsop's site: http://www.wsop.com/tourney/tourneyd...p?groupID=1289

Almost identical to last year:
-2 events on the first day, with #2 being a bounty
-4 flights of re-entry on fri/sat
-seniors 10am sunday, turbo 3pm [last year turbo was at noon, great to push it back. last year they also squeezed in the LO8 at 5pm, good change to remove]
-mon reg 365, tues 6max noon & omaha 5pm, wed monster stack [only change here is last year the omaha event was PLO8, this year its the LO8 removed from sunday]
-thur is a $1125 [was a 580 last year]
-fri/sat main standard
-[sat 5pm regular 2-day 365 added (didn't exist last year); replaces the removed Omaha event ]
-sunday final turbo 1day

Looking forward to seeing the full schedule for satellites and whatnot. I hope we still get the $480 1 in 4 satellite again, or something similar. Also hoping for some non ring BigO and PLO8 since this schedule only has LO8 (least fav by far personally).

Tulsa WSOPC main event and Black Hawk MSPT conflict with the opening weekend in CB, and HPT in St. Charles and MSPT in Milwaukee conflict with the Main Event weekend. Spring poker saturation in the Midwest I guess, though all four of those are 6+ hours away. And because CB added a 2nd post-main ring event to the schedule (and possibly because the 580 was changed to a 1125), it should entice more people to come here for the long main event weekend than the other options with only 1 event to play.

Council Bluffs always has a tough field since everybody chasing points shows up. Pretty standard schedule except the 2 events on opening day. I'm not sure if changing the 580 to 1125 is a positive. Hotel wise, Harrahs is over 100/night, but there are other options on hotels.com for 70-80 per night.

Full schedule is out (page 2): WSOP Council Bluffs

Happy to see different games every afternoon between the re-entry and the main:
$250 8-Game Mix(!) Sunday 5pm
$250 PLO8 Monday 5pm
$365 LO8 Tuesday 5pm (ring event)
$250 PLO Wednesday 5pm

Horseshoe CB rarely/never even runs a HORSE tournament, let alone an 8-game, so I'm pretty excited to see that. Also glad to see the $480 satellite is there on Thursday, as well as the usual slate of $250 satellites Thur-Sat.

No idea if they're making any of the ring events re-entry, as some other venues have been doing this year. Hopefully Andy or someone can shed some more light on that issue, as well as posting structures for the non-ring events and satellites.

Oh ya I like the $1,125 change a lot actually. It'll get the same field size, and double the prize pool.

What are the NLH and PLO cash games like during the series at either Harrahs or Ameristar?

Any idea how to go about reserving a room online? (getting the WSOP room rates)

Is this true or just a guess? Bc I was thinking of going, but going to Iowa is bad enough. If the fields are harder than other stops, maybe I'll just pass.

Got my dates wrong in the OP - Tulsa main is not conflicting, so that's good news.

Here's the tweet from them on room rates: https://twitter.com/HBRPoker/status/837438570004639745

I don't think the fields are harder than most of the other stops. Harder then Durant or Cherokee where the sheer numbers mean there are proportionately more rec players, yes. But not harder than any other average stop. It's true that a few more regs may be chasing points at the end of the year and show up to CB. On the other hand, some of the grinders who usually go but already locked up their natty appearance won't come because the prize pools alone aren't enough to justify traveling there. Kinda comes out in a wash. In general, if CB is tougher than any other average stop it's only by a thin margin.

Looks great, but hope they don't rake the $250's as $200 +50's like they do in Tulsa. Had to sit out of the BigO tournament here as that kind of rake is unreasonable. Wsop brand should really not allow 25% rake in their tournament series

They do, that's the standard rake.

Rake is pretty standard across all circuit stops.
100+35
200+50
300+65
500+80
1100+25

No news here.

99% of the field cannot beat that outrageous rake, sucks that WSOP shows such little commitment to the growth of the game. Reasonable rake in small buyins would barely touch their bottom line in the short term- yet would incentivize new people to get in the game and in the long run be very good for the WSOP brand. Lets not forget Coke spends millions on marketing... reasonable rake in low buyins is needed!

If you play 100 events you only pay like 7k in rake and probably make the national championship, so really you are getting over 100% rakeback if you play a lot.

Ewe... was looking forward to the $250 PLO8 but that rake is monstrous. I might just switch days and play a $365 instead. Also, why no PLO or PLO8 ring event??? Lames.

Solid.

I was/do 100% buy into that though. It looks like there's some leaderboard guys who haven't won or cashed anything outside of a 365 and are all but locked in for a seat with 15'ish cashes.
