So...safe to say I spent a LOT more than I did last year, just that it wasn't spent at The Rio. Absent changes on the schedule, next year will likely be the same even if I spent MORE time in LAS than I did this year.
Based on your other comments, I think you're precisely the sort of "rec" player the WSOP sort of abandoned this year with their premier weekend events. Unfortunately (at least IMO), they didn't take a big financial hit for it, so I'm not sure anything will change in the near term. However, I heard a lot of chatter around Vegas at other venues. The shine is off the WSOP. At some point, its gotta hurt them.
As for me, I played only one WSOP event... the MS. And I was in town for a month. And I, too, spent lots of money at lots of other sites.
