i'm thinking of a case where players that finish day 1 with a small stack may leave town or otherwise miss the 2nd day.

I assume they get blinded out - but how do payouts work? Do they just mail a check to an address on file for the registered player? Or does a player have to be there in person to get paid after they are eliminated?
Yes they will certainly be blinded out. But, that's a very good question about the payout procedure. Anyone know?

I think you could get them to mail you a check if you gave them your ID info ahead of time so they had it in their system. I certainly wouldn't just fly home and expect it to work out cleanly.

anyone find that the uncertainty is tempering their excitement?

Will I also earn Tier Credits from my WSOP poker play?
Yes! You currently earn Tier Credits for your everyday live poker play, and now you will also earn Tier Credits for WSOP events. The Tier Credits you earn will vary based on the type of event and buy-in.

Whatever amount you get, it will be minimal. If they used the "slot formula" of 1 TC per $5 wagered, if you paid $2k in tournament fees that would be 400 TC.

I know the link mentions 2014 but I doubt any of this got better.

If they're using the 1 TC per $5 wagered formula, that means you had $75,000in bracelet event buy-ins last summer. Te salute.

I'm in Vegas and registered for Colossus. My brother registered for the employee event tomorrow morning and as of right now, there are only 140 people in it. Last year was over 700, I believe. I'm guessing it will be a small turnout all around for WSOP this year.

Based on what? 140 the night before doesn't make me think 731 is that far out of reach, especially given there is a single re-entry available through 6 levels.

Based on the fact that I'm here and there was literally nobody else here registering the night before. Clearly, it will increase and the re-entry will help but unless the total registered magically triples in the next 12 hours, it will fall short of last year's.

Reading the threads here about WSOP in general seems to show a lack of enthusiasm compared to years past. The better question to ask yourself is what makes you think it will be a better turnout than last year?

How many people do you think register the night before for a tourney that won't have over 1000 people in it?

I don't think it will triple "magically", I think people will come to the casino and register the morning of for their tournament.

2016 was larger than 2015 in money awarded, entries, entries per event, entrants in Main Event, so I don't think it is amazing to think that the trend will continue.

Always bring the hoodie. As more players show up, the colder it becomes

Do any other casinos accept Credit Cards for tournament entires besides WSOP? Also do the rio daily deepstacks accept credit cards? I would much rather put my tournaments on my southwest rapid rewards card and receive the points instead of paying cash.. currently at 59k RW points trying to run it up lol

I like that you're willing to pay an extra 3% vig to try to run up points.

What? Why would employees who live in town register in advance for an event with 700 ish entries, I'd sleep in and Mozzy on over when I get rolling.., like the 550 over employees who didn't reg in advance.

Relax wsop will be as well attended, if not more..........the rest of the economy is up

The bank that issued the card likes it even more.

You should be comparing prereg numbers from last year if you wanted to predict the trajectory of the final numbers of the same event.

There are 600 entries now in the middle of level 3, should have no problem getting about the same as last year.

I don't believe anyone else accepts CC as purchases vs. cash advances.

Just curious, what is the logic in paying 3% in order to receive 1% in rewards? Or do you get more than that?

80 fewer than last year. Nearly an 11% decrease. But hey, I'm sure everything else will be great numbers because you guys said so.

I guess we should all just stay home then, clearly the series isn't worth playing this year

Yes. Even if it's not cold where you are at the moment, you'll get moved to where it is.
