I'd be very surprised if you can get to the Rio by 10am. There will be a substantial line.

I'd definitely recommend pre-registration.

you are better off flying in the night before and register in the morning time ( pass midnight)

Pretty bummed at the Rio Hotel rates this year.

Usually if I go through the Total Rewards website they will comp weekdays and fri/sat were like $99 a night. I think I paid like $280 for 8 nights a couple years ago,

I guess business is better, and they don't need to beg us to come anymore lol.

U can always just late reg. Lines will be gone after an hour or so into the tourney. U get full stack and tourney is deep enough to miss a level or 2.

Anyone have any experience with Shipsticks (golf club shipping) to/from Vegas hotels?

I guess I got lucky, I'm booked from 6/23-7/1 for $97 total @ Rio. Same dates are now around $250, just keep checking, the rates seem to change daily.

Yea I shipped golf clubs via fedex before. Most hotels have business centers/mail rooms that take care of receiving and shipping packages.

CET hotel rates fluctuate every day and sometimes multiple times per day so keep checking frequently. I have found rates to be better earlier in the week as well as earlier in the day.

Keep in mind that the RIO has a $30 per night "resort fee" that is added AFTER the room rate is quoted. So even "comp" rooms cost $30 per night. Still a great deal but be aware

So for the millionare maker it says one reentry. Is that total over the 2 flights or is it per day? And can you reenter the same day or do you have to wait for the second flight?

One re entry PER FLIGHT. Up to four bullets total.

Anyone who has played the $1500 LHE have an idea of strength of field? Is it as soft as a nlh $1500 or a little tougher?

I haven't played one, but logically speaking it should be much tougher. You have 1/2 NL players in $1500 bracelet events. I can't imagine 6/12 players in a LHE bracelet event. I would think 20/40 or bigger players. You even have 100/200 regs - not because of the money but because of the prestige of the bracelet.

How many players in the $1500 will have little/no LHE cash game experience and will be entering because it is a cheap bracelet event? I'm sure many of them will have an understanding of tournament fundamentals that are not game-specific, but still....

Am I wrong in guessing that the field will include at least one 1/2 NL guy who accidentally registered for the wrong event?

I have no first hand experience but from what I understand, there should be a decent number of NLHE regs who think, hey, it's a hold em $1500 event, how hard can it be, without understanding the nuances of LHE. Also I'd expect a decent number of home game players who've played LHE in their home game for 20 years but again don't actually know the finer points of the game. And while you can't snap off big punts from fun players like you can in an NLHE tournament, you can't get too exploited by strong players.

Could be, but in tournament play, NL is radically different than LHE so it's not very likely there will be many clueless NL players in it. There may be a fair number of pro bracelet hunters, but remember they play a lot of mixed games, which are mostly fixed limit. So if you're a 4/8 dreamer, expect to be up against stiff competition.

Most of the MTT superstars Esfandiari, Engel, Keuther, Kessler etc play the limit and are maybe a small dog vs the field but are not horrible

Diamond status and above gets the resort fee waived. I believe the same is true for platinum, though players should confirm since these things seem to change annually. I also believe obtaining a TR visa card grants a player automatic platinum status, which, again, may lead to waived resort fees.

As of 2017, only Diamond and above

I'm not into the whole TR tiered thing so I may be wrong but it seems if someone has gambled enough to make diamond status, they should be getting a ton of comped rooms and not just having the resort fee waived. Or am I missing something about what diamond status means?

Diamonds do have lots of comped nights avaialable. However, Caesars has a policy of no more than 5 comped nights per stay. You have to have at least 48 hours between stays, so it makes things difficult, even if you book several separate stays. As an example, I will be coming for 5 nights in June and that whole trip is comped. I will be coming back for a couple weeks in July and I will be subject to a comp limit. Diamonds do get discounted rates on other nights though, so its still a big benefit, if you can attain that status without losing your shirt.

I have been told tier does not matter as much for comped rooms, it is more about your ADT (unless you are 7s and you are guaranteed rooms, but you have played a lot to get there). I have not seen much of a change between the tiers on my room rates over the past few years between Plat and Diamond.
