Is there staking that goes on in the single satellite tournaments . How do they spot someone colluding or chip dumping? Are the single satellite tables safe ?
What is the responsible bankroll to start playing single satellite.

Collusion is rife. Beware.

how long should I expect to have to wait in line at the cashier to pay and enter the main event at around 9 PM on July 8th (the night before the main starts).

I assume there is zero chance of the main event "selling out" and me not getting in for any reason?

Probably a very short amount of time. And, zero percent or very close to zero percent.

Collusion is hard to spot, especially in a one-off situation. A red flag might be if you see a couple guys who always play together, but that's not something you will be able to know if you just walk up to a table. And even if you spot actual collusive activity (soft play, suspicious check-downs, odd bet-sizing between two players as signals) it's hard to prove and you're unlikely to get the floor to do anything.

Bankroll is a whole discussion unto itself. Depends on your overall roll and what you plan to play. Some folks go to WSOP specifically to grind the STS's. The cheapest 10-handed NLH STS that goes off regularly is the $125. $175's go off quite often as well. They're short-stacked, fast events that usually chop heads-up, so they can be a high-variance play. If you've never played them before but want to give it a shot, you might consider putting $500 into four $125 buyins and see how it goes. If you chop even one of them heads-up, you will have at least won your buy-in back.

Do you receive tier and reward credits when playing bracelet events? If so, how many?

Yes. eg - 750 credits for a $1500 event, or 200 for the $235 DDS

I found quite a good list on this page:

https://www.totalrewards.com/content...-of-poker.html

I have no idea what credits are worth; l I know that in practice when I play a few events, I get to snag a few freebies in the expensive Poker Kitchen

It does seem a better system than then old $10 food credit voucher !

Uber has only been fully live in Las Vegas since last fall. So I guess we'll see.

if I plan to buy in with cash, would it be difficult to find somebody selling 10k worth of tourney lammers for a discount? does the WSOP/RIO frown upon the selling of lammers or do they allow it?

WSOP frowns on it, and I think they kind of have to formally disallow sales to avoid some tax reporting issues. But it happens regularly. It may be difficult, however, to find someone selling at much of a discount. For one thing, many people buy lammers at full face value, sort of as a courtesy to the poker economy. That doesn't mean people don't sell at a discount; some certainly do, especially if they are holding onto $10k+ in lammers and need to unload them and catch a flight or something. But you may have to (discreetly) do some searching.

The WSOP announced today they have a partnership w/ uber. Designated pickup area outside tournament area.

Not sure how hard it will be to get one, but nice that they have that deal.

Probably not. You don't have to buy them all at once. Just walk slowly towards registration and people will descend on you. You could also do what Chainsaw does every year and post that you're a buyer at a discount. But be ready for the hate like he gets.

If a suit sees you, prepare to be yelled at and threatened. Might not happen, but it might. The BS about tax liability has nothing to do with it. Only the 1k sats pay in excess of 5k profit. The suits don't know why they yell at you other than some faceless entity told them at one point.

I won $1000 in lammers in an on-line WSOP.com event and afterwards there were various emails to me about filling out tax forms. In the end they told me that since the lammers were not cash, but rather "in kind" prizes, there was no obligation to report taxes.

It's possible that if there were a liquid open market to sell lammers that would impact the tax treatment of them as "prizes" and not cash.

Regarding checking bags, I've done it at the Rio (main entrance, not tournament/convention entrance). Tip upfront, ~$2/bag or a fiver should be good, and maybe upon retrieval, if it isn't the same dude. The look I got when I didn't tip upfront made me wish I had a good lock on my bag.

Nothing stolen AFAIK, but most of my expensive stuff (electronics, jewelry) was in my backpack, on my back.

Some people mentioned making sure you know where bathrooms are as breaks can be crowded.

Along those lines it's worth walking all the way back to the bathrooms near the old Buzio's to find a much shorter line.

If you have to plug those chargers in to wall current, you're outta luck. WSOP tables have no power.

1 tier credit is essentially $0.01 in comps.

Does anyone know if the RIO or any casino's for that matter have a policy against wearing backpacks? If so I will be wearing a fanny pack proudly.

In my experience you'll have no issue with that.
