Generally speaking, satellites are pretty soft and are a good way to get into bracelet events in cheaper fashion.

Fantastic advice if you're out and about, terrible advice if you're grinding at the Rio.

You'll have to get up and take a leak constantly.

Does anyone happen to know how much they want this year for a box? Can't find any information on it anywhere.
Another option if you're American: have an account with a national bank, which allows you to shuffle money to and fro.

Is it relatively easy to sell off lammers?

I feel like we're saying the same thing. True, you can't exchange lammers for cash straight up. It has to be in connection with unregistering from an event.

It's pretty easy to sell them. Just ask around and people will buy them to help you out. I've bought them from people and know plenty of people that have.

Replace that Gatorade with Coconut water and you'll be in much better shape

Assuming the event is not sold out. It would suck if your seat got swept up as soon as you unregistered.

Pretty much, search for the old thread on selling lammers that gets bumped each year around wsop time.

I realized over the last couple of years that getting a rental car at the non-McCarran locations can save you a lot of $. I'm looking to rent a car for several weeks and I want to book ASAP. What are my best options if I'm looking to pay $28/d total or less? Previously I used hotwire and just booked hot rates for McCarran pickup/dropoff; however, hotwire doesn't appear to give the option of non-McCarran pickups/dropoffs for my proposed dates. Any help much appreciated.

Check Enterprise. They pick you up and take you to the rental place.

I've looked this year (I need a car for five weeks) and when I search off-McCarran I only find more expensive vehicles on the various car rental sites, making it cheaper to get a smaller car at McCarran.

A tip: Google "rental car coupon codes" and you'll be directed to sites like RetailMeNot where you can get deals at the various car rental agencies. I ended up with a mid-sized car at Fox for around $1K for the five weeks after fees and taxes.

(I would suggest, however, NOT renting from Fox if you're flying in because you have to take a shuttle to the rent-a-car center and a second shuttle to Fox because it's off-site.)

If you're a member at Costco, they usually offer the best rates of anybody, by far. go to costcotravel.com. I have a standard size SUV for 43 days for <$1500, including all taxes and fees.

I always check Costco and have my car through them this summer too (intermediate allin for 9 days for $203). A big benefit is you can always cancel with zero penalty so you can lock one up there and keep shopping.

I fly out June 1, and expect to stay until I'm done with the Main, so probably a typical year of 20 or so bracelet events. Good luck to us all!

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

I don't know if this has been asked but how are The Satellites and where they have satellites for the heads up and the Pot Limit Omaha or will it only be Hold'em satellites going the whole time . Has anyone played them to build a roll ?

I have always used a site called AutoSlash for summer rentals in Vegas, they have most of the car rental companies at the airport as well as off site. The way it works is you book with the company of your choice, get a total, and then it automatically rebooks your reservation every time the price drops with that vendor. No credit card is given at the time of booking, only in person and free to cancel at any time. If there is a better price with another rental company that is lower you have to confirm via email it is ok to switch. We usually end up with a car for about $21-24 per day on a mid size with Budget or Avis. Best to book at least a month in advance to get full advantage of all the price drops.

They'll probably have single-table satellites in other games the day of or the day before those games' bracelet events.

There are also MTT satellites scheduled in other games at 8pm the night before those games' bracelet events. Go to the last page here: http://www.wsop.com/2016/2016-WSOP-Schedule.pdf

so you know how hotels have a baggage check that guests can use on their checkin/checkout day if their flight arrives before room ready or leaves awhile after checkout time...

...does the Rio have a similar thing that players can use to check bags while playing a tournament even if you aren't a guest there?

(suppose i stay on the strip, but on the last day of my stay, i want to enter a wsop event. Check out of my hotel in the morning, shuttle to Rio, play the event, most likely get knocked out in plenty of time to catch my redeye flight home. Bringing bags and checking at the rio would be WAY more convenient than having them checked at the hotel i stayed in since i wouldn't have to make an extra trip back.

Or are there some people chillin with luggage next to them at the tables maybe, which i guess would be another alternative?

You can check your bags at the rio or any other hotel for that matter

This is not a realistic alternative. You can't obstruct walkways, so your bag needs to fit under your seat. Also, if you have multiple bags and get moved to another table, this could become logistically difficult to move all your bags and keep your chips visible at the same time.

Last year, I made the final day of an event the day I was meant to fly home. I brought my bags to the Rio which they happily checked for me. They were also retrieved on short notice when I needed to head to Macarran.
