If you have a $5k roll and are there for a week, I'd have a crack at the MM. Where else are you going to play for $1m up top with a reasonable structure and a fairly soft field?
That still leaves you with at least $500 per day which you can play at other series around town.

You can also play the Daily Deep Stacks at the WSOP or other satellites (mega / single-table).
In terms of registration, popping in late on Fri nite will help avoid the Sat morning lines and could help score some more sleep as it reduces the variables in the morning.
