Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

Can I use a check received from an earlier WSOP cash to buyin to the Main directly without having to deal with depositing/cashing it at my bank first?

Thanks.

No surprise Americans are so fat if this is thought of as a healthy option

Are all the STTs that are running in Vegas satellites or can you play them for cash somewhere?

Mirage runs some that fill at really popular times, but the rake is awful iirc. (Poker near me app may list other rooms that run them too.)

I've been to London, just as many overweight people there. They really like their fried fish and "chips".

Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

Folks said it's easy to sell lammers, but what about for the full $10k ME entry...

Interested in % one could expect. I heard full price suggested, but that may be hard for ME entry...

Thx

Go Raw cafe is my healthy option, but it's not close to the Rio (about a 15-20 minute drive).

Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

Just decided Im going to play the Main again this year and had a few questions.

Are individual days going to sell out again? Ill be driving up from LA and want to play 1D so Im hoping to just be able to get in late the night before and register that morning. Is this a big risk since IIRC 1D is the most popular day and I know in the past they had days sell out.

Is it to late to wire money for the Main? Rather not have to get 10k cash but will if I need to.

I played a couple events earlier in the series and got the poker room rate ($80). Can I get that rate again using those events since Ill be booking my hotel before I register for the Main?

Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

I'm thinking of playing the $2000 mega satellite on Friday night or the $1000 sattelitte on Saturday afternoon. Has anyone played these? What can you tell me? How many people typically play these satellites? Is there a huge skill level difference between the $2k buy-in and the $1k buy-in? How long do these tournaments usually last? If I play Friday night, I will likely miss a level or two, is this a big deal? Do the games really get started right at 8 sharp or does it take a little bit to get the game started?

Thanks!

Question Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

Help!!

Please answer last poster's question about the skill level in $2k.

I'd never play in regular $2k tourney but assume the field is pretty soft for that level.

Thanks!!!!

Re: WSOP 2011 Questions

It's probably too late to wire money to the Rio, but I'm no expert on bank wires. The cashier windows are open 24/7 so if you get in late the night before, buy-in right then rather than waiting until the morning. Day 1D probably won't sell out because of all the tables in the Pavilion now, but the lines could be nuts. No clue about room rates.

You'll find more pros in the 2K megas than 1K, but they often play it a little crazy since it's just a mega. So you might find that some of them actually add to the softness if you know how to play them right. Just pick the amount you're comfortable with playing and don't overthink the quality of the field.

I'd advise against missing any levels in a mega. You need to chip up early and often to make sure you have enough of a buffer at bubble time, regardless of the size of the mega. And yes, the Megas should start on time.

Good luck.
