Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

Not sure I like the entire schedule.......... Maybe play a few prelims and satty into the main. I'll wait for Borgata in Sept to play more. In need of a nice cash........

Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

Can someone please explain how the payouts work in the survivor tournament ?

It says one in ten win $2000. But how are they picked ? I assume it is different than a traditional tournament ??

Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

yeah say 67 people sign up.

67 * $200 = $13,400

13,400 * .03 (staff fee) = $402

$12,989 in the prize pool.

6 players get $2K and the 7th place guy (final elimination cause the tourney is over at 6 left) gets the remainder $989

Wheeeeeeeeeeee
Is this the first time Parx had a big series like this? I couldn't find similar tourneys. I'm trying to figure out how many people will show up for the $300 re-entry tourney. Are we talking 100 people of 300+ people??

Also, what hotels do you guys recommend. If I don't make it to day 2 of the $300 re-entry can you cancel? Are the hotels in close proximity to the casino?

Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

This is going to be the biggest poker series Parx has had. They had a smaller series last summer and a few months ago with the same kind of buyin's that they called WPT regionals. They got like 200-400 for most of those prelims. The Main last summer was a $1500 or 2k buyin. If I remember correctly it got like 100 runners. McLean Karr won it I believe. The DeepStacks crew showed up. Other East Coast & AC area Pros. The poker room is nice and Parx is trying to go a good job with these events. It's not Borgata, but they continue to get better. I look for better things from them in the future.

Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

To answer your question about the sat $300 re-entry........ it's going to get a minimum of 400 runners. With re-buys, your looking at prob 600-700 entries.......... Should be like 50-60k for 1st. If they get 700ish..............

I don't know about that. They had the same event in April $300 w/rebuys and the prizepool was only $52K with 180 entries. I think your estimates are waaaaaay off. It seems there are a lot of hotels in the area. Do they sell out? Should I just wait to book a hotel if I make it to day 2 that way I don't have to deal with cancellation fees. I think I saw like 10 hotels within a 5 mile radius

Re: WPT Parx Poker Open:August 1-15

Well, that event in April was just a regional and the WSOP circuit Chester was going on which took away a lot of players who needed WSOP points. So, add 100 players to that total at least............Plus, April's event was just a WPT regional event that wasn't really talked about or advertised. This time it's a full blown WPT series with a TV Main event with Mike Sexton, Vince, Tony "Bond18" D and the Royal flush girls..........

Last summers........... event #1 got 479 runners............ You decide.........

Oh I didn't realize that about the conflict with Chester and I didn't see results for last summer. Thanks. I guess you aren't that far off then with your estimate. Regarding hotels, do they all sell out? Should I book a room and just eat the cancellation fee if I bust out early? Or just book the room if I make it to day #2? I see there are a lot of hotels in the area.

The hotel situation .hhhmmmmmmm, not sure. I live within 40 minutes, so I never had to try the hotels in the area. I would think you should be good. Can't imagine they being sold out. It's not AC during the summer with a HUGE Borgata event. Enjoy and GLGL
