Your not sure what hes trying to accomplish?
Its clear to me, he believes the rake is too high, so by pointing it out hes hoping to help change it.
Since when is only positive feedback allowed on 2+2.com?
Maybe if they lowered the rake he would play it along with more others.
"Its really that simple"

He's been going on about it for 2 years when they've answered him about it on numerous occasions. They have their reasoning as to why it is the way it is.

It's not about only having positive feedback, but him coming into a thread even after the event to complain about it when it's been explained is rather annoying.

And nobody isn't playing Montreal WPT because its $150 more in rake than others aside from Allen.

The rake at playground is definitely out of control (although the $150 extra rake in 3/4 tourneys a year isn't the major issue.. the $14 a hand they take out when playing 2/5 nl on the other hand is beyond reasonable imo) even when factoring in for nice chairs, free food at cash and hot waitresses.
On the other side, chainsaw is completely out of control for going off at Playground for over 2 years over a relatively minor issue. (The fact the casino didn't give him market currency conversion rates.. It would have been the first casino that i know of to charge market rates to their customers on currency conversion. Also my friend had to exchange a small amount this year and the rates were actually quite completive)

Chainsaw would be so much more effective if he calmed down and selectively complained about issues. At this stage he's like the boy who cried wolf- because not everything is 'the most absurd thing ever' as he so often claims. On the other hand- its good that we have a guy like chainsaw around, because extremists like him (even though they are often wrong or completely out of proportion) bring the middle-ground towards them. I don't think its a stretch to give chainsaw some (just a small amount) credit for the improvement to tournament structures in recent years.

I've been trying to figure out how to say pretty much exactly this for about a year now, this is extremely well phrased Ari and I agree 100%, especially with the first sentence.

Lol I used the exact same analogy as far as boy who cried wolf a year ago or so. Definitely well put Ari, there's no question he has some worthwhile points every now and then but they continue to get buried further & further under his biased complaints imo.

It's no coincidence we never heard a peep from him about that ridiculous payout at that Winstar tny that just so happened to patch him up and take care of him. But when it comes to the casinos that don't roll out the red carpet for the poker celebrity that he is, their prices & structures get buried. As far as I'm concerned the market will take care of prices; PG's rake is higher and the fields may get smaller bc of it. So is the nature of supply & demand. Nobody needs Allen to tell us where to play poker. It's not hard to calculate the vig and make a decision for yourself. He's not solving any mystery cases for us.

Anyway, thanks for staying away saw. Butterfly effect & all

The 14 max rake is a bit ridiculous though. Almost makes the cash games unplayable.

Congrats on final tabling again.

I wasnt patched at winstar, and I did criticize their strange payout.

Numbers are down significantly year over year at playground. Like you said, players decide where to invest funds.

Had they charged the right rake, I may have played and its unlikely that you would have finished as high. Butterfly effect worked in your favor, and if I were you Id play there regardless of rake, considering how well you do there.

Nice run.

Maybe PG should bring in slots and blackjack to subsidize the poker rake... People forget that Playground isn't a casino but rather a poker room. Sure, the nits might not like it as much but i'm not there on a daily basis to care that much. My local 5-5 game rakes $45 MAX so $14 is a pleasant change. Fallsview also charges $14 per hour on session fee so that's not that far off.

I was trying to avoid commenting on the high rake again, but I have to correct the last post. Playing 2/5 at Fallsview with a maximum of $14 being charged to you every HOUR is much better than the maximum $14 per HAND at Playground! I was at a 2/5 table at Playground during a WPT festival when all the players realized that we were all from Fallsview and it didn't make sense to pay up to $14/HAND when we could play each other a few days later at $14/HOUR; needless to say, we stopped playing at that table and it broke.

Winning players get to keep a lot more of their profit with a $14/hr fee than being raked up to $14 every hand. Anyway, if Allen will be going to the next Playground Poker Festival on January 23 - February 3, then I will try to join him.

Does the WPT charge huge fees like the WSOP does to host events? And to the regs at PG if they don't like the rake then stop going and send a message.

I like Allen and I think he's good for Poker and does have a lot of valid concerns and good ideas. If he channelled his energy with more calculation he'd be far more effective.
