I am planning to cancel my Hilton booking for the five nights on February 8-12, which is only ~$115/night for a two-bedroom suite and $115 in free hotel extras, so if anybody I KNOW wants this booking so that they never have to walk outside into the freezing cold during WPT FPC, PM me. I will be switching to another hotel since I don't mind walking outside in my winter parka. Four Points By Sheraton also emailed me a good deal (higher for Feb. 13-15), which has an indoor connection to the casino like Hilton.

I was recently told that it would be up to Level 13! This would make it almost midnight or 12 hours, which seems too much. I played that long at the WSOP Main Event and by Day 4, I was burnt out and sick.

Or once again in your opinion 10k is sufficient?
So youd like to see the 5k and 2.5k reduce starting stacks?
I'm not saying it's AWFUL to have larger starting stacks, it's awful to pay an extra rake for it, because literally 0% of that goes to the prize pool. But since you asked, if you have a 30k ss for the 1100, it would become a longer tournament, severely hurting the 2500 and 5k.

Yes of course starting with more is WAY better than a pre add on.
The fact that if the 1100 started with 30k instead of 10k would severly hurt the 2500 and the 5k wouldnt be a chip issue but a scheduling issue.
There is no reason why the 1100 cant be deeper.

Do not, I repeat do NOT, convert your US money at Fallsview. Take a cab and go to the nearest Toronto Dominion bank. Honestly, you'll come out ahead.

$1k seats for both days are still for sale. They should be for a little bit yet, not even a sellout guarantee. They've limited purchases per person this year.

$1,100: $970 to players' prize pool + undisclosed 3% staff gratuities of $30 + $100 fee; 11.8% total rake.
Fallsview's estimated prize pool: $850,000, based on 876 (re-)entries; I predict that it will be higher. There were 650 entries available last year, but only 649 were sold, as one entry was refunded without being resold.
FV's est. first prize: $145,000; ~17% of pool.
Maximum entries: unlike most WPT festivals, there are no alternates and no more than 1,100 total entries (450 + up to 100 re-entries for each Day 1).
Will probably use standard WPT championship structure with high antes starting in level 3 already, but only 10,000 starting chips. WPT CSC $1,100 had 30,000 starting chips!
The confusing one-of-a-kind re-entry system (requires a separate post!) will be up to the end of Level 9.
Breaks: I was told that it is unknown. At WPT Montreal, there were 15-minute breaks after every 2 levels of play on Days 1 and 2. There was a 45-minute dinner break after Level 6 on Days 1 and 2.
Levels per Day: WPT Montreal had 10 levels for Days 1 and 2. When I asked FV, I was told that it may be 9 or 10, depending on TD's discretion.

$2,500: $2,231 + undisclosed 3% gratuities of $69 + $200 fee; 10.8% rake.
FV's est. prize pool: $1,560,000, based on 700 (re-)entries.
FV's est. first prize: $288,000; ~18%.
Maximum entries: 1,100 (450 + 100 re-entries for each Day 1) so it will not sell out (578 last year).
20,000 starting chips.

$5,000 WPT Main Event (televised for the first time since 2008 with Matt Savage, Lynn Gilmartin, Tony Dunst, etc.): $4,559 + undisclosed $141 gratuities + $300 fee; 8.8% rake
FV's est. prize pool: $2,270,000, based on 498 (re-)entries. I predict that it will be less, due to the negative goodwill from last year, but with Matt Savage at the ME this year, it will improve next year.
FV's est. first prize: $518,000; 23%.
Maximum entries: 700 (500 + 100 alternates + 100 re-entries) so it will not sell out (383 last year).
30,000 starting chips, same structure as the much better managed WPT Montreal.

$1,500 first-time Shootout: $1,309.50 + undisclosed $40.50 gratuities + $150 fee; 12.7% rake, higher than $1,100 event!
FV's est. prize pool: $424,000, based on 324-player sell-out!
FV's est. first prize: $106,000; 25%!
Maximum entries: 324 (9-player one-winner table * 36). I predict it won't sell out as there are no satellites for it, and non-pros like me won't buy-in directly to donate to pros who bust out of the ME.
10,000 starting chips.

Duration: 9 days, 2 more days than last year.

Where are you getting this information of maximum 100 re-entries? I haven't been able to find that anywhere and obv the staff at fallsview know nothing. Also it sucks that if you final table the $2500 or go deep you have to miss out on the 5k main. I don't understand why they cant tell us the number of seats sold.

Gotta love the shenanigans at Fallsview. First a couple of cheaters had been caught colluding in the WPT FPC satellites, but the only penalty was to ban them from playing in the same satellite.

This weekend, a pothead troublemaker was waiting in the same satellite table as his much more successful old rival and made personal insults against the guy's wife and race. They agreed to fight outside - since the inefficiently-run satellites would take forever to start anyway. They already started to fight inside the casino, while a poker tour champion tried to break up the fight. A fourth guy tried to intervene. I then saw a whole bunch of security guards running to the fights. The instigator fought against security and I heard ended up in handcuffs and banned. The other three players were asked nicely to leave the casino that one night and escorted by two guards. All were back playing the next day, except for the banned pothead.

Only one more crazy Superbowl weekend before WPT FPC starts!

Would you mind informing me who the colluders were via PM?

Thank you sir.

Why would the $1k only sell 450 tickets per flight to start? The cap was 600 + 50 alternates last year, why would it be reduced? Doesn't make sense

I called today, and they said "we have received no notification that about any flights being sold out" so I'm heading up there in a few to get my entry.

Heard you can but people are selling them for cheaper right in the room.

There is no point in pre-purchasing with a credit card with 2% surcharge for the three $1500-$5000 events, except possibly for the $1,100 event, which MAY sell out by February 7.

$1100 turns into $1147 I believe because of surcharge and courier fee. I also am not sure if you would get the US exchange if charged to your card. I'm not sure how that works exactly.

How much are the $1100 day 1-b tickets going for at Fallsview? They would have to be under $1000 to make the trip from Toronto worth it. Otherwise, I'll lock in one for $1126 directly from Casino.
