Theoretically we can reach 10xx (500 each day + alternates each day) but I am not really sure if it can reach MAX. each day...

My guess is even 1000 WITH alternates, no sellout.

With the single re-entry each day, I think it ends up somewhere between 1000 and 1200.

Room rates are outrageous. Where else to stay?

For Event #1, I predict a sell-out of the maximum 900 players. The first 100 eliminated players from each of the two Day 1s can pay for a re-entry card (different from card won through satellite or purchased), so the maximum total number of entries is 1,100.

lol $99 to $149 per night during a premier canadian tourney series is outrageous?

Im sure there some bedbug infested derelicts for $50 a night but...why?

thats like, cheap, compared to the summer i was paying $199 per night + to grind every weekend at fallsview. a few 2k+ profit nights help soothe my room rates though.

Also the super sats on the 9th and 12th are capped at 400? uhhh was that normally always capped? cant remember but it sold out quick last year.

Seneca MAY have cheaper rates although those fallsview rates compared to normal aren't horrid.

Many players don't seem to care about things such as hotel costs, travel expenses, rake, hidden fees, etc. and just want to play, but for those who do care, below are some tips about Niagara Falls.

- Your Niagara Falls hotel bill such as Hilton's $249/night will actually be over $300, after the following are added: 13% Harmonized Sales Tax, 3.8% "Tourism Improvement Fee" (one of the many names for a rip-off tourist fee which ALWAYS gets reversed whenever I ask), and even $15/night for wifi! I received a better Hilton offer than the WPT FPC promo so I am looking to split a two-bedroom suite.

- If you are not scared of the cold and are not too lazy for a short healthy walk, there are many lower-priced hotels close to Fallsview: Ramada Hotel for as low as $65/night (including $50 slots vouchers that can be used for video poker or any machine to make them like a ~$50 cash discount), Best Western, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn NF, Quality Hotel, The Oakes Hotel, or check Booking.com.

- Fallsview Hotel only has 374 rooms going for up to $359/night during WPT FPC and will probably be full. The only other hotel where you don't have to go outside is Four Points Sheraton.

Feel free to ask any non-troll questions.

I read thru that ad and I think the $65 room is really $130 the $95 is $190 since it says based on double occupancy.

Double occupancy means that up to two adults can stay without being charged extra. For example, I took my family to Ramada last weekend and paid only $65 (+ sales tax + $4 "facility fee" and tourism fee refunded) since there were only two adults. Whenever I grind at Fallsview, a roommate and I usually stay at Ramada for less than $65 due to the $50 slots vouchers. After I book the Hilton two-bedroom suites for WPT FPC with friends, we'll book again with Ramada.

Where did you find the 50$ slots deal? I assume that's per night. Normally we get that when we go (almost all hotels have it), but this year I can't seem to find any that do.

I've seen the $25-$50/night slots vouchers through email offers, ncrowd.ca and similar deals sites. For example, I received an email offer from Embassy Suites for a two-room suite for as low as $105/night while including the $50 slots vouchers and $185 worth of other hotel extras, so I have started booking for January. The first booking receipt I received showed the normally 3.8% "Tourism Improvement Fee" as 10%, so I will get that reduced to 0%. :P

The WPT website has not been updated, but the C$5,000 Main Event will have a maximum of 500 seats available. For the first time ever at Fallsview, a busted player can re-enter until the end of the 9th round, which will make satellite winners more likely to sell their entry card instead of playing. That busted player can buy one re-entry card (limited to the first 100 re-entrants) that will probably look different from your original entry card.

The total fees/rake for this $5K event are 8.8%, including undisclosed 3% staff gratuities; $4,559 + $141 gratuities + $300 admin fees. There were 383 players in the Freezeout last year, so you don't have to pre-purchase as it will not sell out and 100 alternates will be allowed.

I hope doublejoker or anybody interested took advantage of the $65 hotel rate as I have received booking confirmation for the $65 amount, but the deal link seems to be gone.

I read it as $65 per person with two people in room. Each getting a $25 coupon. Not a great deal.

The WPT FPC brochures are finally available at Fallsview. There is no disclosure on how much extra will be taken from the players' prize pool for any of the tournaments for staff gratuities. It was a lot less busy on NYE last night with only one satellite table open compared to last NYE when I remember both the poker room and casino were overflowing.

My roommate and I can confirm that we paid as little as $33 each (+ taxes) - $25 gaming voucher = only ~$8 each! In case anybody wants the latest email offer if they want to pre-book until the end of February, PM me.

What satellite ran?
Any time there are 10 players interested they will run one?
Is that how they work it?

They tried to run a $550 satellite into the $2,500 event, but as happens too often for both the $550 and $1,050 satellites, most of the players on the long lists had given up waiting, and the satellite failed to run again with < 10 players. The $125 ran after.

Unfortunately, Fallsview continues to have the worst satellite system/procedures that I have seen. It would be much better to use tournament lammers like WSOP Rio and Venetian, instead of paper vouchers that even the supervisors can't read the photocopies of. Even the local summer-only CNE Casino ran satellites for the very first time last summer and their satellite procedures are much better, including using plastic cards instead of paper. Even the first-ever WPT Philippines, WPT500 Aria & WPT500 UK would have a bunch of scheduled super satellites instead of just one that finishes only ~12 hours before the Main Event.

Yeah there are just too many ways Fallsview could run a better event its simply ridiculous.
Id like to come down and try to satty in (because Im not buying in direct to their event anymore and would like to saty into the main so I can play in a tournament with a good structure).
When is my best guess? Fri sat nights only?
And when does Casino Niagara $1/$2 get busy with recs so I can make my commute worth my time?

The $1,050 and $550 satellites are most likely to get ten players on Saturday and Friday night. A satellite to the Main Event did finally run after midnight on Friday, but despite the > $1K buy-in, it soon became a crapshoot with only 2K starting chips and 15-minute blinds.

I only play at Fallsview with 2/5 and not Casino Niagara with only 1/2 and no satellites.
