I think it is really speculative to say that more people would play the River if they start the series at the start of August and have the main on a random weekend vs having the tournament on a weekend where tons of people have a 3 day weekend and also where they have a decade's worth of history of having the tournament the same weekend every year. The River has been there for years and years, I guess I don't know why you are pissed about Winstar not moving it instead of pissed at Choctaw for not setting their dates right before the River instead.

I think you are probably pretty dramatically overestimating how many people would play the River main and the WPT main if they were two weeks apart but won't because they are six weeks apart instead. Some people will benefit from the six weeks apart timeframe, either for bankroll reasons or other. For me traveling from Austin, with two kids, much easier to get away six weeks apart than two, as one example.

I think you are DRASTICALLY emphasizing the importance of what casual players think. This tournament will get a big field and break guarantees no matter when you have it. But if you schedule it against other major tournaments like last year then it hurts everyone, the least which being winstars bottom line. They should be trying to get visitors to come in and play this, like I said locals will at play no matter what. Good structures and good scheduling are the most important things for circuit players that always show up.

I always thought the "steps" satellite system works best. During the weekday have "step 1" mega satellites and SnG's which win seats into the weekend $750 satellite (1/5 win seats) with maybe 20 seats guaranteed. Also allow players who win a second $750 qualifier seat or $3500 main event seat to get cash. This will keep the satellites going strong the whole series.

They said details for wpt choctaw will be posted this week. I think this will be monstrous. I just wish winstar would follow suit in terms of structures and marketing.

Looks great, love the steps satellites and juice-free Megas. The $500k monster stack should be good too. I wish the "Au Revoir" was a $1080, a turbo, or both, but definitely excited.

Website says need proof of tourney entry needed at time of checking for poker rate. How strict you think they will be on that. Would satty to main event proof work? Was going to go down to mainly play cash and maybe a few sattys. Thanks.

first thing i noticed was that the $200k re-entry is only paying 5%? That seems pretty bad, please pay standard 10%.

Second thing i noticed was that the structure says the $350 monster stack is $300k guarantee but calendar says $500k guarantee.

Third thing I noticed was the championship structure doesn't list what % pay, and doesn't specify re-entry procedures. Is this best stack forward? Or will you have to abandon stack to play an additional flight?

Also is there a guarantee or not on the main? Some people are saying 2mill and some 5 mill.

also prelims starting with only 8k seems sub standard. All events should start with at least 10k, at least in my opinion.

in conclusion the biggest gripes (and im pretty sure almost all players would agree) are make 10k the min. starting stack, and pay 10% in all events.

The 5% pay out is specific to that tournament. When they do a 100k or 200k gtd $100 buy in tournament, they always do 5%. Previous reasoning was so that min cash would be $400. Not saying I am for it, just saying that's what has previously been stated on other choctaw tbreads.

a lot of people plan on reenter and if they pay 10% then min cash is really too low that is why Jimmy did 5% in this low buyin tourney.

? this is the worst logic I have ever heard. 10% is standard WORLD wide for all tournaments. Pretty much every big casino does big field small buyin re-entrys and still pays 10%. People are gonna be playing for like 12 hours in a $120 and not cashing because its only 5%. So bad.

we all know the standard is 10%. Jimmy tries different things and based on the numbers people still play it with a 5% pay out.

Jimmy is very open to suggestions, there were more positive with the 5% payout than 10%.
