Second they said I could register online, but that I would still have to make the regular line to get my seating ticket, and the only benefit to signing up online was to guarantee a seat.

I think it's pretty shortsighted to not have a separate line for those who have paid in advance. It just doesn't make much sense for it to be otherwise.
yeah they probably lose two or so customers who want to pay the full buy in now in person but won't sign up online.

Hey Tab,

How many players are you expecting for events 3 and 5, the 500 and 1k nl? I was originally just coming down for the 16th and beyond but I'm getting an urge to play some live poker.

Anyone else remember numbers from the previous series?

On the Borgata web site, you can click on the tabs for "Play", "Borgata Poker", then "Tournament Results". Scroll to the bottom for last year's BPO in September. The results show the number of entries for each tourney and the payouts.

I apologize if this was asked already, but when does on-site registration begin? I'm playing the first event and am coming down the night before, but would like to get my ticket before then.

In last year's enormous WPT you gave 27.5% of the prize pool to LivB for winning the event and the lowly mincasher got 4700 for 3-4 days work (~$1200 profit). I think we would all agree that that number is pretty insulting. Its not good for the poker economy and its not good for the Borgata as min-cashers and satellite winners are the blood of your business. We need these people coming back to play, not turned off. The high stakes regs (most of whom are staked) are gonna play regardless. I realize that most of us on 2+2 play MTTs to win them so flatter payouts might theoretically be bad for our ROIs, but cmon its still gonna be 800k+ for first...

Since we are talking about payouts, is there ANY way you can adjust that goofy part of your payout schedule that pays 27 if the field is over 200 players? So many times in the past year for example, there will be a field of 200-220 players for a 1500 prelim, and instead of paying 18, you pay 27 and not only is the mincash even worse, but it dilutes the money for the final tablists (where the money belongs). In the Spring Open you had 207 players for an 1100 buyin and you paid 27. 19th-27th got 1500 dollars. Is this really necessary? Pay 18 and put that $13.5k back into the prize pool, IMO. You really should be paying 9 players if < 100 players, 18 players if 100-250 runners, 27 if 251-349, 36 if 350-449 etc etc I really think this is something worth looking at and would love to know if you have considered adjusting your payout schedules for your prelims AS WELL as your MEs...as always, thanks for listening Tab...
+1...completely agree!
