We already have 67 satellite winners for the $7,500 Main Event.

Bay 101 has the best "early" satellite program in the world!

Any way to reg the 2k side from SoCal before it sells out? Also any way to add more tables in this place? It's popularity is killing itself with the limited number of tables

Yes, you need to contact Bay101June@gmail.com for the 2K.

No, we are restricted to 49 tables of which only 28 of them are poker tables.

Bay 101 has no slot machines

When does the 2k generally sell out Matt? Does one need to register a week early or is 2 days usually ok when I get into town?

That brings with it another set of problems, such as a Day 2 field that might be bigger than what could fit. Later in the tournament the structure really slows down, 6-handed play, etc. The cardroom itself loses money hosting the tournament, and might not like the idea of it running even longer than it already does.

Search previous years' threads on this tournament. I think Matt posted a list.

BTW, there are no reasonable hotels around here. Motel 6 is $96 a night.

PSA - Beware the change from Daylight Savings Time. Players have missed the start in the past.

+1. I have also never been to Bay 101 and could use some recommendations for reasonable priced hotels. Thanks in advance!

I saw a Card Player ad for the tournament that shows you are a bounty.

Congrats! You made the bigtime!

FYI- Just booked an Alamo SUV out of Oakland for $171 a week on Costcotravel.com-- you don't need costco card to pick up vehicle.

I Have an SF house but still looking for San Jose hotels to save the 60 min drive.

One thing I have found which may appeal to the higher end world travelers-- For some reason the San Jose Fairmont is the cheapest hotel on United miles. I tried to book at 17.5K a night, lost internet connection then booked minutes later at 16K-- that's dirt cheap as miles are losing value all the time.

For the creative Alan Kessler types, you could sign up for a credit card on the points guy website, and get enough miles to book three nights at San Jose Fairmont, two guys/two cards equals six nights, save a grand.

Matt-

Can you explain the 7% of all net profit wins withheld from everyone except California residents? Where does that go? State or federal? Etc

Kev even bumped chainsaw to the curb. I am sure it was a hard choice for Matt.

The 7% taken out is a California state taken out for on residents. You can claim it as a deduction on your own state return, iirc.

The structure sheet for the WPT Shooting Star Championship says in the smaller print at the bottom that there are levels "1-13" on each Day 1. This is a misprint. As indicated by the detail lines above, there are actually 11 levels -- a day duration of 12:55.

As a Shooting Star the other players at the table are gunning for your bounty, so they'll call your allins much lighter than usual to try to knock you out.
