Great schedule, maybe even better than last year! Well done!
Love to see the mixed games back at the Playground.
Which games will be played on the "roll the dice" events?
Which events will have satellites online?
Thanks

Phenomenal

Hope to make it out for atleast 1 event. Playground is the BEST place to play. I've told so many people in the NY/CT northeast region. Recommend it to anyone!

Hey Jack Eight - thanks for the kind words! This whole festival is just super fun - esp now with some pretty monster events that are much bigger than last year. But all of the smaller (and not-so-small) non-standard events give the WCC a ton of variety.

In terms of the Roll the Dice event - that was just called a Dealer's Choice last year, but with 6 events, we used an oversized die to indicate the current game, so we renamed it to suit. The games in the mix are NLHE, PLHE, PLO, PLO5, NL Pineapple, NL Crazy Pineapple.

The Grand Prix Canada, Playground1000, and Canadian Poker Championship will have online satellites. The Canadian Poker Championship will also have Phase 1s both online and live.

Phase 1s start with 10% of the starting stack of the big tournament and cost around 10% of the buy-in - and play down to 10% of the field remaining, meaning that the chip average at the end of a Phase 1 is the same as for the big tournament it feeds. BUT - an individual player who survives a Phase 1 might have a lot more or a lot less than the average - and their stack carries forward, so that is relevant. We ran a tournament like this in the Spring and it was terrific. This is one of the recent innovations from partypoker LIVE and Dusk Till Dawn.

There are also Playground Tournament $$ satellites every day on partypoker (non-NJ, of course). You can play for one of 2 $200 Playground Tournament Dolllar prizes - these tickets can be used to buy-in (or help to buy-in) to any event in the WCC.

I played a few events last year and enjoyed my time there. Lowest rake around + free food (in the cash games at least, can you eat for free while playing a tournament?) + the only place I know of that has pineapple!

If I could make a suggestion regarding the roll the dice events, PLHE seems redundant with NLHE already in the mix. It would be much better to replace it with PLO8 or Big O (8/B). Also, a HORSE tournament would be a great addition to the schedule.

Anyway, great series and I hope to make it out here again for a few days.

Mainly the 1k and 2k, I'm mostly interested in whether there's a rollback and how you're handling Day 2 to Day 3 given that Day 2 starts at 3 and Day 3 starts at noon.

Hey BillyBizzle,

The blog isn't quite ready for prime time yet, but I have gone ahead and embedded the PDFs for each event and that's the easiest way to get it to you. By the way, these are both partypoker LIVE events.

Event 20 - $1,000 + $100 Playground1000: https://www.worldcupofcards.com/2017...event-20-info/

Event 28 - $2,000 + $200 Canadian Poker Championships: https://www.worldcupofcards.com/2017...event-28-info/

Note in particular the time changes for both events compared with what we published originally.

mk1988: We're still waiting on the online Satellite and Phase 1 schedule from partypoker for those two events.

Looks great! I assume button ante is the button paying that amount each orbit, so I will ask the obvious question-what happens when the button is dead?

Also as a heads up, the 1k sheet is correct but the link says 12AM where it should say PM.

Thank you for the heads up - I'll correct that asap.

A Dead button means no ante that hand, interestingly enough. The button ante is, for practical purposes, the same as the BB, unless the table is short-handed - at 3 players below "par" - which should practically never happen - it will be the small blind amount.

Also, as a suggestion-play 10 levels on day 3, not 8. Playing 10 levels makes the starting stack equal to the big blind the last level of the day, and if the average is 50 bbs, you'll have 2% of the field left (so like 20 out of 1000). Playing 10 levels day 3 will make it much more likely that you finish in 10-11 levels on day 4, rather than needing 12-13.

From my understanding, the 1million Grand Prix will be paid out through party poker. Is that the only event that will be paid through the party client? I will not be playing any events that this is the case.

The button ante has become popular in some of the high roller events recently (Super High Roller Bowl for instance) and partypoker LIVE has decided to roll it out for their events as well.

The concept is simple - the button pays the equivalent of a full table's worth of antes each hand. The execution is simpler - instead of paying a variable amount depending on whether it's currently a 9-handed, 8-handed, or 7-handed table, the button ante is equivalent to the bb. If a table is down by 3 players or more from the max then it goes down to the small blind amount - but that will almost never happen because tables will be balanced before it gets to that point.

BTW partypoker LIVE events - in this case the Canada Grand Prix, Playground1000, and Canadian Poker Championships - are all 8-handed events - except that to accommodate any kind of rush of players they will start 9-handed (players hate to wait to be seated) and move to 8-Max asap.

Carl Trooper is correct - if by reason of residence you cannot play on partypoker or don't have the right to make an account, we'll get you set up at the cashier like any other event.

Basically the message is "don't worry, we'll take care of you" if you're from the US and want to play but can't use partypoker to buy in to an event or to get paid out to. BTW partypoker NJ is effectively an unrelated site for purposes of this and other partypoker LIVE events afaik. My understanding is that NJ is essentially a fully walled garden for this kind of thing.

Can attest to this. Never had an issue with playground. Always pay and are very helpful and respectful. Hands down the BEST place I've ever played. Can't recommend it enough. Really have 0 complaints except I have to drive 3 hours to get there!
