The first 10 alternates were seated quickly yes. I was 17 and wasn't seated until almost the end of round 2. And yes, like Jenn said, it shouldn't matter how early it is, if its before the start time and it is not 400, it should not be alternates. Its not a great way to start off the series. Congrats to jenn for doing well despite this setback, but not playing until almost the 3rd level is a big disadvantage. Not producing what is advertised and has been advertised in this series and in Megas for as long as I can remember is not a great way to go.

Two years ago, 650+ players showed up for a tournament that was advertised to seat 300 plus alternates. They closed every table in the room and managed to seat nearly 550 players before the alternate period ran out.

I have seen the room close every table to accommodate Megas exceeding the 400 plus alternate limit on several occasions.

The problem was unintentional, the room would have preferred to seat everyone immediately, there was an apology issued before the tournament began. The room does not want to see it happen again.

Are there poker rates? How much of rooms there normally

There is no poker rate but the Player Card will get you a $10 discount per day.

If I have not mentioned this before, you MUST have a players card to play any event. The cards are free, you can tell them you do not want mailers sent to you and they will opt you out of the mailings.

Rates vary through the week and on weekends. It's my understanding that the Labor Day weekend is full already.

The Hotel has a very high occupancy rate.

However, there are numerous hotels in the immediate area (within 10 miles) with good rooms and decent rates. Reserve a room early though.

Is there an overall points leaderboard/prize like there has been in past years for the series?

No series champion this year. That was added money they are not adding this year. They did increase the guarantees from $3 Million to $4 Million and they are running a $5K buy in event juice free.

Gainesville, Tx is the closest reasonable sized town, it has at least a dozen hotels.

Denton is 40 miles away.

Ponder is some distance off of 1-35 but Valley View is about 18 miles out, it has a couple of motels.

North, Marietta has a place or two, Ardmore, OK has a few places, it's 35 miles up I-35.

Best choices would be in Gainesville TEXAS make sure you specify that when you Google, Gainesville Florida won't help you much.
