Anyone know how much a person can expect to receive if they sell a WSOP bracelet?

I was curious about this because someone was telling me they had seen a couple for sale on ebay. I do not see any currently for sale on the site and im not sure how to do a search for previous sales. Im sure a top name player with multiple bracelets would probably interest a collector of such things more than the unknown who has one to his name.

Even the unknown player would probably receive some interest. Many players would love to wear it in the poker room and then when they are asked about how they won it they can say they bought it on ebay.

why would you wear it to the cardroom and admit to BUYING it???

I wouldn't wear it to the cardroom and say I bought it. I don't want to buy one I just want information on how much money they are worth. Of course if none have been sold to date that information may not yet be available.

That's what I would tell people who asked me about it, if I actually won one.

How can you feel proud wearing a bracelet like that you didn't win. Just stupid IMO.

Aren't the real deal gold? Those are stainless. Looks like "souvenir" type bracelets.

After Jerry Yang won the market value dropped precipitously.

I am not sure if those are real bracelets that someone has won or just a copy. I'm not sure how to check if they are real though. I would think the real ones were numbered or something or come with a certificate. The only way to know this is to find out from someone who has won one.

Since I have now seen that on ebay the next time i see someone I don't know wearing one I probably won't believe they won it, unless it is someone I know has won them like Doyle Brunson.

Search the net. A bunch of vendors are selling them.

That would be sad if someone bought one to act like they had won an event, pretty easy to bust them out to since most of the records are easily available to check.

Easy to check records? What records are you talking about? Please explain the scenario when you sit at the table and notice someone with a bracelet on how you do this and decide?

It looks like the ones being sold by vendors are fakes and I still don't know how you determine if someone has a fake or a real bracelet. There has to be someway and I'm sure there is an easy answer to this, but since I have never won a bracelet i don't know and was hoping someone who has won a bracelet would post a reply in this thread.

If for some strange reason Harrahs did not develop a system to authenticate if it is original then the answer to my question of how much they are worth would be the value of the gold in the bracelet.

Why would they say they bought it? They can legitimately say they won it. They won the eBay auction, right? Yuk, yuk, yuk.

Yea I remember hearing that ted forrest purchased a bracelet off another player. But then again he did have three of his stolen so i guess he was just trying to get even.

14K Solid Yellow WSOP Bracelet (hand-made by Neiman Markus) that was awarded back in the 1990s sold for $2125 on eBay a year ago.

I also remember reading that Jennifer Tilly bought a WSOP Bracelet in a pawn shop in Vegas.

Didn't someone offered to sell theirs at a poker table for $1K or $2K, and Ted Forrest bought it immediately? Maybe it wasn't Ted Forrest, but I remember reading about someone buying it off of somebody at a table.

Good ole TJ pawned it to get even at the craps table ldo.
