Meh, from what I saw last year it was kind of a freak show. Not too appealing.

Pro-tip: some with discretionary income do precisely that. Older people tend to have that luxury...
No, I do not.

Recent structure changes of the WSOP Senior event ruined it before they introduced re-entries. PH is a better option.

We also have a $50k Seniors coming up on February 24th for anyone that will be in LV.
Yes find having the week for seniors is really excellent.

I played the PH last year and will do again this year, only if I bust the WSOP early.

+1. I took a poker vacation to PokerStars Championship Panama, and the Seniors Event was ONE factor to narrow which of the many series to go to. I cashed four times in Panama, and in the first event I played at the Irish Poker Open. The Seniors Event is on Sunday.

My next poker vacation to a WPT event next month after I came back from Ireland will NOT have a Seniors Event, pig4bill! 😮

Losing players underestimate the huge impact of rake, but taking it into account is what has enabled me to win a big bankroll and get to take poker vacations around the world.

I like playing against all sorts of ages, nationalities, etc. It is just the added value of a tax-free Seniors side event that helps me narrow down which vacation to take next.

I see. It never occurred to me to go to a place like Panama on vacation, much less Macau, etc.

What about the Wynn and Aria events? Is one better than the other?

Between Wynn and Aria Seniors events, Wynn is better in terms of structure and fees. Here's a link to structure analysis of all NLH Senior events in Vegas this summer:

Just want to remind you that the Wynn Seniors on 6/12 is a 2 day event. We had 347 last year, with approximately 50 players returning for day 2. It's a very good structure. Hope to see you there.

That's easy enough to look up. The reason I asked on the forum is for turnout and other intangibles.

Are all of the LV summer senior events tied to your age on the date of the tournament, or are some open to people who turn 50 (or any other threshold age) later in the year? Just wondering if I have to wait until next year, since I'll still be 49 during tournament season.
