The mspt events which I helped design are $1k buyins with 25k starting stack and 40min levels until final table. They usually reach ft by around 7pm on day 2 and play every possible level prior.

It is definitely doable.

If it has to make ft by noon the next day, the starting stack would need to be small (probably 10-15k) , levels would have to be shorter, or they'd have to skip levels. You're basically knocking out 591/600 players in one day.

WSOP blind structure with 10k chips and 40m levels, 10am start on Monday, re entry until the end of break after 300/600/75

Still hard to knock out 98% on day one. Must be 30min levels.

4 minutes later:

Duh, one was a $5k $10million event. The other is a $1k two day event.

There are no other $5k non turbo events with 40min day ones.

The 40 minute day one catered to deep pocket pros who could run over satty winners and tourney regs who only budgeted for one bullet.

The single entry format solves some of this, but 40 min levels on day one was still unacceptable for that level of buyin.

I'm glad you asked, William Mason is finalizing the schedule and there are over 300 satellite and promotional winners for the $5,250- $5,000,000 and multiple megas for the $1,000,000-$2,650, $500,000-$1,100,and even 10 seats guaranteed through megas for the $25,400 $1,000,000 guaranteed High Roller.

There's a lot of zeroes in those guarantees!

Will this be in the showroom area to accommodate such huge fields?

40 min levels was only through dinner break and in the previous 2 years worth of threads on that MTT, it was needed for what they were trying to do. Some liked it, some didn't but they chose to run their event that way and I personally thought it was one of my favorite MTTs of the year.

This 5k will be cool to. I'm curious as to how well freezeouts will do. Hopefully this series does well as that just benefits everyone as the hard rock is one of the few venues that is actually doing stuff that (or willing to try stuff) that will bring in big crowds. Although the buyins are smaller, this has much more of an "EPT" like feel to it in terms of offering more than just the main event as a reason to travel to said destination.

I'll be there early August, looking forward to donating my share to the prizepools.

main event freezeout and hr/sides re-entry ftw! is it possible to reg day2 of the 25k? worried about the overlap as its a long trip for me. Are the re-entries unlimited?

Many times traveling players need more than just a main event to travel across the country or internationally and now they have it. Four big guarantees that will be start and finish in four days. No reentry in the $5,250 means that they now have two $1,000,000 guarantees and a $500,000 that they won't even have two change travel plans for.

Poker players putting together packages and backers have a set cost for the $5,250 Championship and the $2,650 and can gamble it up in the reentry $1,100 or the $25,400 High Roller if they are so inclined.

The four final tables in a day will be played in Hard Rock Live and be a a great venue to play, sweat friends, and swaps. It will be filmed and there will be food and drink along with audio and video of the table. The way I have it imagined it will be quite a spectacle and hopefully it will be something that continues at Seminole Hard Rock. Bottom line is I don't think its a bad idea to try different concepts for poker and this is definitely something fresh.

August 15th $5,250 No Reentry- Noon start- Registration open until 10:00pm
August 16th $2,650 No Reentry- 2pm start- Registration open until 9:30pm
August 17th $1,100 Reentry- Noon start- Reg and reentry open until 6:30pm
August 17th $25,400 Reentry- Noon start- Reg and reentry open til 10:30pm

All 4 Final Tables held on August 18th are Noon starts and 90 minute levels

Structures out for the "Final Four" on Monday

The only thing that looks hard to figure out is how the 1k gets thru so many players to hit a ft by noon the next day.

Making the final tables all start at 4pm or so would give a little breathing room to the 1k to play down to ft on day 2.

Another negative is that anyone whose first choice is the High Roller can't play either of the first two tournaments as they won't know if they will make the High Roller FT, possibly creating a FT conflict.

If your first choice is the HR then you probably aren't coming for this event. The goal is to bring in 100 players that will play the HR if they can and 15 of them will make day 3 of the 5k and the rest can play

When registration closes for the High Roller we should be extremely close to if not already reached the final table of the 5K and the 2.5K as well.
