The mega satellites are not winner-take-all if they get enough players for more than one seat...

Meant SNG's.

Like I said, haven't played a WSOP live SNG, so wasn't familiar w/ the exact structure. Concept still applies, but instead of "first few levels" substitute "first level".

Re: Wsop sattalite advice

MoreDeadMoney: The Venetian STTS pay 2 places (equal split). So when there are 3 people left and I have 10-15 BB's do you feel it's right to ever raise fold instead of pushing all in? They are sooo passive. Your going to be crushed if you raise and someone shoves over. Losing there is disastrous.

At the Rio where it's winner take all, I would have no qualms insta-shoving the hands on the pushbot chart.

Also---I have the Rio and Venetian info. Can someone post the Wynn STT payouts, structure etc. Thanks!

1. Play super, super tight early. Setmine and play for a big hand. Don't ever go to your death with a one pair hand early. If you are one of the first two people knocked out, you probably (but not always) did something dumb.

2. In the mid stages, don't play speculative hands. Suited Connectors or worse. You simply don't have the odds to make calls to continue draws. Only play big hands - ABC poker.

3. Late in the game (15bb's or less) play solid ICM poker. If you don't know about this, google pushbot charts or read Kill Everyone. This strategy is pretty standard for MTT's but is applicable for the SNG end game as well.

In short, patience is key early, which buys you a nitty/tight table image for when you have to start making plays late.

Good Luck!

A lot depends on relative stack size on how I'm playing at that stage. In general it is my goal NOT to be involved in a decisive hand, especially if the other players don't "get it".

However, I could min raise with garbage from the button vs blinds that don't defend and then fold to a shove.

Typically, unless i've observed such a player that won't defend, I'm probably just playing push/fold and not committing chips then folding though.

Yea. I've been really trying to pay attention to individual player tendencies instead of just going with hard and fast rules. Played 6 now. ITM in 4 so I'd say your advice has helped. Owe you a free beer.

Can anyone confirm that they are not running ANY $1k sats to the ME (other than 7/6-7/9)? Thanks.

Single table $1ks run all the time. I think you're right about megas though.

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

Are there any WSOP main event sattys with added money or seats around town? I'm linking 20% payouts since I'm a nit and almost always make top 20%

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

Does anyone have an idea as to how many entries the $1,060 Main Event Mega Satellite will likely have on July 6?

Would this be better value over the $550 Main Event Mega Satellite held also on July 6?

Tons of people is the answer. There is also a $2080 on those days as well. Play the highest one you can afford for a better shot at a seat.

Would it be better to play a couple of the $550 megas or play one of the more expensive megas?
