Full disclosure. What I posted is how I played online SNG's. Never played WSOP satellites, but pretty sure I'd base my play on what I wrote.
That said, I'm not saying you shouldn't adjust your game if some spewy players show up at your table as 663366 suggests. You should definitely play early (keeping pots under control, in my opinion), and I'd personally play more hands if there are obvious fish involved. However, I still think it's a pretty big mathematical/ICM error if you go out early by getting involved in flips or other high variance situations in the first few levels.
