Rio WSOP satellite thread

Now that we're underway, thought it would be handy to have a single thread to discuss the live WSOP satellites at the Rio.

I'm not there for another week, but if anyone has the following info:

1. How many entries they've had in the Daily Megas ($330 @ 4pm and $550 @ 8pm)?

2. What are the Single Table Sat buy-ins?

From memory, someone mentioned in the general WSOP thread that this year's lammers are pink.

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

last year the $550 @ 8pm attracted about 80< players in nlhe
they change format if there is a 10k on next day
when it came to NLSD27 it was 28 players

fyi: you can reenter those satellites

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

How many players were the $330 megas getting at this time last year? Hopefully the number of entries will increase as we get closer to the ME...

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

During the days just prior to the main event the $550's had about 300-500 entries. At that time there are the 10 AM($550 also) and 4 PM megas but really don't know about the numbers in the AM mega.

It sounds like during the days prior to the main the numbers are a lot less. Somewhere in this forum I've read that it picks up to 100+ on the weekends prior to the July 4 main.

I try to find an official who can tell me the number of entries before I register-not excited about low numbers in the megas but this probably doesn't help you if you won't be there during the time just prior to the Main.

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

Can anyone confirm the exact buy-ins for the single table sats? (I know they are supposed to range from $125 to $1080 or something like that)?

I think its a $235, but not 100%

Mainly running the $175s, $325s and $525s STT.

Buy-in - chips - levels - payout
$175 - 1,000 - 15 min - $1,620
$325 - 1,500 - 20 min - $3,120
$525 - 2,000 - 20 min - $5,120

Are the single table sats all winner take all or do they pay out a small amount to second place?

All winner take all, but the vast majority are chopped in some way.

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

How long do the $550 megas tend to last? I understand it varies with field sizes, etc. most likely to play on a weekend night in a few weeks.

Re: Rio WSOP satellite thread

The one this morning had 58 and lasted 14 levels.

RE: The selling of satellite lammers - they are really cracking down on the "no selling" thing. A lot of the security guys don't give a crap, but there are plenty that do. There is a suit or security every 50 feet just about no matter where you are. I was making a sale and a suit started yelling at me. As hard as it was to sell, I think this is my last trip playing the satellite game.
